I ordered mine from Walmart (for Verizon). I got this strange email yesterday that said...
“In reviewing our records, we incorrectly notified you that the iPhone SE 2nd Gen preorder had shipped. In fact, it was only the SIM card portion of the item. We sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
The phone itself is still on track to go out next week on (date) as originally planned. You will receive another email once it ships, and can always track the latest progress by logging into your order.“
I chatted with Walmart online and they said everything is normal, even though I never received that notification they mentioned). I don’t understand receiving a separate SIM card, though. I’ve ordered iPhones from Apple and Verizon in the past but never received a separate SIM card.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
If it is shipping from UPS, the shipping delay emails are not uncommon. I received a UPS delay shipping email on 4-22, but my SE still arrived on 4-24.I ordered two SEs directly from Apple, and both are reporting shipping delays in China. Anyone else got the same thing going on?
Ordered my parents each one, and this exact thing is happening to them. Any update that you've heard? They received a decently sized box with just a SIM card in it. (box big enough for 2-3 phones to be in it.
I love this phone! Feels soooo good in hand and my pocket. I feel like I've been depriving myself for years not trying out this form factor. Good to have a leather option again too (XR, and 11 which I never owned, that day never came)
I know why I went Plus at the time, battery life and being more glued to media but my needs change over time.
My iPhone collection has been reduced to SE1 and SE2 lol. My SE1 is jailbroken with X gestures too, and I got a mini5 and 2017 iPP so got X gestures for that too of course.
Spring cleaning
And ready to upgrade to any kind of insane iPhone that comes out in the future too, without a big financial ding to the old wallet from shuffling.
Will be good to see it! So your sticking with the se over your 11?Looks almost identical to mine, although mine is just a knockoff silicone I'm gonna use until my Loopy arrives, but it looks identical. I'm in love with it.
I ordered the black/white checked Loopy case because I think it'll look cool with the white/black phone. I know that kinda stuff doesn't matter to everyone, but I like to coordinate. ;-p

Nice! I'm currently using a note 9 so certainly understand what you mean by a phone feeling like a brick in the hand! Funny thing is if I go for the 11 it will be lighter to me!Yep. Mailed my 11 off to its new owner yesterday. I was still a little on the fence, even when I listed it for sale, but when I got it out of the box to erase/restore/charge up for the new owner, it felt like a brick in my hand (I never really felt like that before - I've had larger phones for years). I knew right then I wasn't gonna miss it.
I'm having to get used to a few differences as far as use (swiping to close apps, and stuff like that). The thing is, that didn't always work well for me with the 11 anyway - I felt like I always had to try swiping from several angles and it was sometimes a pain to try and do one-handed. It's just retraining myself to use that button to close apps. And I've been clicking the wrong buttons to take screen shots, but I'm sure I'll get used to that.
All in all, I'm really happy with it. One of my daughters is about to ditch her 8+ and get an SE also.

I may look at the 5.4 if that surfaces but the SE could be an option for me perhaps. I'm loving dual lenses with current device so I'm a little reluctant to go back to single lense.
Who knows!
Oh and I'm sure you mentioned grandchildren. You don't look old enough! Lol![]()
Yeah I'm thankful my battery life and camera on my note are ok so it's not like I'm in desperate need of a phone unless I smash this to pieces dropping it!I was a little skeptical because of the camera, but then I realized that 90% of my pictures are portrait mode pics of my grandkids, and the SE2 will do that just fine. The other 10% are almost always screen shots of recipes or memes I have to send my kids or something.
And thank you! I have 8 grandchildren. I did have my kids when I was young - all 4 in my 20's, and my daughters have all had theirs in their 20s (so far - at least one will likely have more kids). My son hasn't reproduced yet, which is likely a good thing given he is still a teenager at nearly 25. ;-p
That profile pic is from about 7-8 years ago at my daughter's wedding. I need to make it more current. My gray hair is kicking my butt these days, but I refuse to color it.![]()
Is it as thin or thinner than an IPhone 11 Pro?
Thinner than the 11 Pro.
7.3mm SE vs 8.1mm 11 Pro.
I had terrible migraines from one of the earlier iPads with a lower dpi than the IPad mini that I bought to replace it had. I think some people are sensitive to the lower pixels per inch. I always found the display on my iPhone 11 a bit harsh, but I could use it.Myself and several others had headaches with the xr/11, which is an lcd like the new se is. That shouldn’t happen, but it did. Most people thought it was due to Face ID, but the SE doesn’t have Face ID. If it doesn’t improve, I wouldn’t try to “get over it”. Hopefully it was a one time thing.
Wait times for the SE from Apple are close to the end of the month. Looks like a massive success.
If it was technically an iPhone 8’s, Apple would have officially named it the iPhone 8’s.Is this technically an iPhone 8s?
