iPhone Anyone try unlocked a CDMA 4s w/ the 5.1.1 jailbreak?

im also having r sim 3, didnt work for me, but gevey ultra s(cdma) works perfectly(to bad without furiousmod)

Even when I reboot, I just have to wait when the Gevey activation comes on and then when I see T-Mobile at the top left hand corner - hit cancel.
That's all I need. No activation stuff on reboot.

I can also confirm this works, iPhone 4S Verizon 5.1.1 baseband 2.0.12, unlocked to straight talk, had to play around with it before it worked fully, got 3G working by installing APN via unlockit.co.nz
I'm hoping furiousmod gets an update soon, but for now this unlock will suffice.

This confuses me. My Gevey card package says: R-SIM III Ultra+ S. Is there a card that is just r sim 3 and not ultra s?

I have unlocked 10 of Verizon / sprint with Gevey multi- network ultra s. I just used r-sim III repo and it worked fine. But sometimes my clients can receive text massages but can't send them ? Any help with this
 
on 5.1.1 you mean?

Yes of course. Updated to 5.1.1 and used absinthe to jailbreak them . Used rsim III repo (google it) and it worked fine . You have to use the white reset sim to chose the carrier tho
 
I'm thinking the problem I'm having must be phone specific. I've unlocked multiple CDMA 4s's, and this particular one on ios 5.0 was unlocked for a few weeks but then just wouldn't let me connect anymore (prompted me to activate, even on jailbroken 5.0 w/ furiousmod installed).

Now it won't let me connect even following the basic instructions here jailbroken on 5.1.1. I restored, deleted the carrier bundles folder, restarted, inserted gevey cdma, and still no go. I've tried it on 5.0 with a seperate cdma gevey to make sure it wasn't the gevey being defective, but I will try that again just to confirm.
 
Because you restored the phone does that mean you'll have to jail break you phone again? I'm trying this right now on my Verizon 4s, trying to go to At&t......Don't ask.....:eek:
 
Any chance you can do a step by step for a complete noob like myself? I did manage to jailbreak with Absinthe 2.0.1 and install Cydia and installed furiousmod (which didn't install correctly, got errors). So a step by step would be very helpful, thanks.

i updated and then restored my iphone through itunes to 5.1.1 so my baseband was updated too and i erased everything (i like starting fresh less errors and bugs)

i then activated my iphone through itunes

then used Ifunbox (look for it on google) and searched for carrier bundles and deleted the whole folder

i then put my gevey ultra s cdma with my sim card in and presto! the gevey unlock sucess screen came out (give it a few minutes)

Also if you have a verizon iphone 4s do not do the carrier update that pops up on itunes it will mess up your phone (idk if the samething happens with sprint)

Hope this helped and let me know what happens :)

P.S- If it works make sure to turn on 3G and data roaming and etc...and also edit and put the correct APN information of your carrier so your internet could work!!!

I had to jail break before iExplorer (software) could see the system folder to delete the Carrier Bundles.
Location: System/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone


I then went to the following site and installed the correct APN to have data.

I now have a Verizon iPhone 4s running on At&t.... Sweet!
 
Help

Okay so I activated my phone through iTunes, than used ifunbox to delete the "Carrier Bundle" file. After that I unplugged my iPhone and inserted my T-mobile sim card with my gevey sim together and it doesn't work no matter how long I wait. ALSO the screenpops up saying congrats gevey unlocked it, but then later it'll say I need to activate it, which i already did.

HELP!

ALSO when i'm at the screen where i can use apps and such, the phone reboots itself and sends me back to the "activation" page!
 
For some reason still getting activation screen everything I reboot or respring with gevey and sim card in. As soon as I remove the sim it goes to the home screen

For all of you struggling , follow these instruction. It works, because I've done these to 10 phones and it all worked.

1- Update to the latest 5.1.1 and make sure you activate it through Iphone (very important)

2- Jailbreak the Iphone 4s through Absinthe 2.0.2 ( google it if you don't know how )

3- Install these repos : http:// v.backspace.jp/repo and install CommCenter*patch. Also add this repo http://cydia.myrepospace.com/polysony and install i-4s Network Package.

4- after that insert the white sim with the gevey unltra s and chose your carrier (sprint or verizon) and immediately eject the sim

5- Finally put your sim with the gevey ultra s and you should see the Ultra s unlock success screen.

Sometimes you will get the activation screen required may pop up, just remove the sim, record a memo and insert the sim while it's still recording and let it play in the background. If you get the activation screen just hang up and remove the sim.

when i download from cydia.myrepospace.com/polysony the i-4s Network package there's a problem and makes me reboot?
 
New Problem

Okay i followed the steps posted two comments above mines.
Once i put in my T-mobile sim card with the gevey during that step the unlock screen comes up saying i've successfully unlocked by Gevey ULtra S. Then i can cancel or accept. I accept and then it begins searching for 5 minutes, than it says NO SERVICE. THEN the successfully unlock screen pops up again and it says searching and it keeps going in a cycle

I have a SPRINT 4s and it has not been activated ever (phone bought in USA and brought to me in Serbia). How can I activate it through iTunes? Or in any other way short of bringing it to USA?

Please help :)

Assuming you stuck at the activation screen , just order a sprint sim from eBay or just wait until redsnow comes with a hactivation tool( I hear it's pretty close)
