Okay so I followed every single step everyone put and experienced so much trouble, but magically something worked? Anyways so the T-mobile came up with the signal, EXCEPT
I CANNOT SEND SMS/TEXT MESSAGES. I received them just fine, I can call people and get calls, BUT CANNOT SEND ANY SMS back
PLEASE HELP SOMEONE. ANY SOLUTIONS?!?! Is it the GEVEY ULTRA S sim card or just the fact that it's a Verizon iPhone 4s?

I bought an ultra gevey s CDMA / WCDMA / GSM to perform the unlock for GSM operators here ... furiousmod cdma installed it ... what else is strange that instead of bars operator appears he is "no service" but usually receives and makes call and receive SMS .... tb it does not send sms and receive a call it does not recognize the contacts on the agenda ... as the phone is only in the "no service" can not use the 3G network .... help me solve this problem ....

Ok I experienced this and it seems you have to sacrifice the Internet. Just turn off the cellular data network and reboot the phone . It worked for me but I think texting is more important than the data. At least the wifi is there

Strange. Try doing rest all settings and see if it fixes

So Absinthe 2.0.4 has just been released. Will this have any affect on the problems people are having with texting and so forth? I'm a complete noob at this stuff, but it seems to me once Cydia is installed it's just a gateway to install software on the phone. So my question is: any reason to upgrade to 2.0.4 if Cydia is installed and working?

Nope. The SMS/etc problems are likely due to an error in the APN settings on the device, rather than the exploit tool used to Jailbreak it.
hey so everything works except voicemail. I can't check mines. It says it's voda and I need to input my 10 digit number except I'm T-Mobile so thoughts or solutions please because the red badge on my phone is annoying how can I rid of it!!

yes, phone need to be activate to for jailbreak n unlock...if you with sprint or verizon u need the sim that come with it...but so far thats what u need. i heard redsn0w will come out with hactivation feature,good luck
I used to have this problem too... but it worked eventually. I dont know what I did lol. I think it has something to do with deleting the carrier bundle.. or putting the vodafone.nl folder contents in the carrier bundle.bundle folder.
DO NOT update carrier bundles when your phone asks or itunes asks. This means you have to re-delete the folder again. Or else youll have the activation loop

Unfortunately for me it didn't d/l correctly, I'll have to do a reset, re-jailbreak and try again. I was trying to get SAM to work and I'm pretty sure that might have fowled things up. My phone is not activated from original carrier either, lost the sim that came with the phone. I'm blaming the Tmobile guys behind the counter for that one. He was trying different micro sims to try to get my phone to work, he obviously didn't know what he was doing but he sure was giving it a go, so thanks for that anyway. I think the sim that came out got left on the counter when we left, there was a lot going on at the time. Now I'm wondering if I can get a sim from Verizon.

actually... i just restored my iphone 4s and it bypassed activation... All you have to do is leave the gevey + your sim in there and wait for a while, then proceed the activation..

I am using the commcenter and it works.. no code needed to be entered.
You do not have to mess with any carrierbundles or anything.

1) Using ifile or ifunbox:
Go to private/var/mobile/Library
2) Delete both Carrier and carrier bundle.bundle folders.
3) Assuming you already have furiousmod installed, insert gevey+your sim. Hard Reset
4) Activation screen comes up... WAIT until you get the "gevey unlocked" screen and click accept
5) Proceed through the activation and you will get "Thank you for verifying, start using your iphone"
