What a hoot, Apple has done it again! Its the software, so make great hardware to use great software, get that M$?

Ha! You can pay 9.99 for QuickVoice or .99 for Voice Record, love it!

is it possible to use the purchased apps on both iPod touch and iPhone?????? i just spent 20 € on games .... damn

I'm sure people are aware of this fact, but I've discovered these programs can be explored jsut like the original iPod games. Simply add a zip extension to the application and unzip it, and you can see the contents. I managed to install Apple's Remote application on my 1.1.4 iPhone but it doesn't work 100%.

Not many free games to choose from... :(

Oh, heh, of course I'm looking at the US store... wonder why the $20 difference, surely that isn't a tariff of some sort, or do businesses really think they can get away with breaking and entering in Australia?

Oh and a Currency Conversion only brings $69.99 to ~$72.89 Australian dollars... so the difference between currency isn't large enough for that kind of gap.

Sebastian

Exactly what i have been complaining about for a long time now. How can you charge tariff on software you download. If it was physical and you owned it i understand but cmon...

I dont want to blow too much money on the first day. Should I get Bomberman or Super Monkey Ball? Hmm...

I never thought I would see the day ...

R-Fly

I was looking at other task managers and then I saw Erica's for free and I thought, "You know you're an Apple addict when you recognize bloggers by name..."

I can't wait to take it for a spin... WE WANT 2.0! WE WANT 2.0!

App Store available from iTunes

I don't understand the comment on the front page article for this story that the App Store is not supposedly not available directly from iTunes.

Yes, it is. Here's how:

Open iTunes preferences, select General and check the check box form Show -> Applications

This will enable the blue Applications button on the sidebar underneath Library.

Next, click on Applications and you will see a blank screen. However, on the bottom right hand corner there are two buttons. "Check for Updates" and "Get More Applications".

Click on Get More Applications and you can browse the App Store.

I don't see what the problem is. Even the picture on the front page article is the same as the App Store selection.

Meh.

You like to play dangerous, just wait for Firmware 2.0

just buy a giftcard for the US store on ebay and u'll be fine. i use the US Store right now and im in germany ;)

There are a lot of talented people out there.

There are a lot of people that need help (morse code app?)

Sorry, novice question here, but the one app I just got (the free Remote app from Apple) is not synching onto my iPhone. Is it in my iTunes Library? Yes. Have I since synched? Yes, twice. Is it on my iPhone? No.

Greatly appreciate any help. Now doubt I'm just being an idiot. Thanks.

EDIT: Ahh. I'm guessing I need the 2.0 software.

One thing that I don't like... I shop using the "Shopping Cart" iTunes preference. Clicking "Buy App" does not use the shopping cart, once you hit that button there's no going back!

I like the shopping cart method because I can browse around adding stuff to the cart without committing to purchase, then when I'm done I can review what I've chosen and if I'm spending too much I can take something out.

Quite a huge oversight if you ask me.

See below:

I'm sure this has been stated (I haven't read through all 8-pages), but I wonder when Apple is going to officially launch this... as of now, the 'App Store' is not available as a link from the main iTunes Store.

Hopefully it's not too dangerous lol, I was just curious to see if it would run. But I learned quite a bit about the structure of the ipa files just by digging through them.
