Interesting if the MBPs will have the nano-texture option soon.
I didn't know this thing was available in Apple devices until I read it today in the new iMac spec.

But one of the reasons I'd like to buy a Macbook Pro is for its 600 nits screen, to be able to (try) to use it outdoors at the terrace sometimes.

This means I should definitely pay the extra money and get this kind of anti-glare glass?

And still with the same washed out front colours, no thanks, go bold and bright or go home.

Everyone complaining about the 256GB... I get it, but did you really expect them to bump base RAM and SSD in the same release without a price increase? Let's just take our small RAM win, and hope they come around to 512GB base SSD as soon as next year.

and the Magic Trackpad is an optional upgrade
Depends on what you mean by "upgrade." It costs extra, but you can no longer buy both the mouse and the trackpad with your iMac, so if you want both (as many desktop Mac users do!) you now have to either buy a mismatched standalone Magic Trackpad or Magic Mouse, or buy all three accessories standalone in black or white, because the iMac color-matched versions aren't sold standalone.

Still no color matched Apple logo on the chin. The empty chin just brings more attention to it. It gives that teenage furniture store or catalogue un-branded computer prop look.

I’m trying to order the new iMac. One of the things I wanted was both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad. On the previous M3 version you could order both. On the new one they only let you select one or the other. Since I am ordering it in blue the only way to get the accessories in blue are to order them at the same time as the iMac. I talked to someone in sales and they confirmed they are seeing the same thing on their end. They also told me they have no way of ordering the Magic Mouse or the Magic Trackpad in any of the colors. Any ideas or suggestions besides just picking one?

I’m in the same boat. Just got off the phone with them and they are seeing the same thing on their end. I truly believe this must be a mistake on their end because you could always order both on all the previous versions. She said she was going to mention it to her supervisor. She also confirmed she wasn’t able to separately order the mouse or trackpad in any of the colors. Let me know if you figure out a workaround.

Am I wrong or is the cost of a 16gb M4 iMac with 512 gb still the same cost as the M3 ($1699)
You can get the M4 iMac 16 / 512 GB for $1499 if you buy it with the binned SoC. It's a configure-to-order option of the base model.

What's crazy is you can't get the mouse AND the trackpad in your desired color?

You have to choose one or the other. I guess the only method is to get the "Colored" Mouse and the White Trackpad separately huh? Just wondering on how to get a complete set of all same colored accessories...

Oh well... we wait till tomorrow until Halloween!

That is truly incredible ...
The component cost difference here for them is probably about $10, perhaps even less

512GB NVMe sticks, retail packed, are like $30 on Amazon
When I was selling Apple computers the component cost of the Apple branded $30 USB cable was $1.79. The component cost of the similar $10 USB cable in the PC section was exactly the same. Occasionally a customer would ask me what was the difference between the 2 cables. I shrugged, said $20 and handed them the $10 cable. I earned a few repeat customers that way.

Looks like they basically lightened the colours so it's less saturated.

Some of the shades look a bit different. The blue and purple both look they have a bit of grey mixed in. The green looks a bit more tree leaf like.
