Happy I sent Vision Pro back, it’s already 2 generations behind on the chip. Finally upgrading my M1 iPad. Only the M4 could have convinced me.

Question: coming from a 10.5 inch 2017 iPP, I find the back is very slippery, and I have to squeeze my grip a lot when holding it without a case on, or it slips out of my hands. I guess this is still a thing on newer iPads?

And TBC it wasn't about "sitting" on the phone while having it in my back pocket...the GD thing was bending just from BEING in my back pocket and curving to fit my curves. 🍑
How tight were your jeans? I can squat 500lbs (been lifting weights for 20 years) and my back pockets still aren't tight enough enough to bend a phone when standing...

Anyway, why were you putting it in your back pocket anyway? Trying to get it stolen for some weird insurance thing?

M3MBA has 1 extra performance CPU core but two fewer efficiency cores - and slightly faster ram vs the M4 base in the normal pros (not counting the 1TB models as normal) - makes me think this ‘M4’ is mainly a number bump and they had to make changes to accommodate the screen driver with the dual layer OLED?
Core count isn't everything though

Apple's unpredictable M-series upgrade cycle may have unintended consequences. Their first AR headset out just a short 3 months ago now has a 2-generations-old processor and costs more than an iPad Pro releasing this month. What are they thinking? :-/

Well the processor isn't everything and considering the lead time needed for the Vision Pro, it will likely always lag behind in the processor.

Yes. The major problem is that - to prevent from slipping - the "thicker" 11" and 12.9" 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022 models bend easily (so did my 10.5").

Our 2020 model is "arc'ed", and was in a case, to limit how hard we hold it.

I'm super-nervous about the even thinner 2024 model.

When something is advertised as aerospace-grade aluminum that fits in your pocket one should rightly assume it's built to be put in your pocket. 🙄
aerospace-grade ← means "pure"

aluminum ← means "soft and lightweight metal"

Putting it in your back-pocket and then sitting down on the couch, chair, or simply bending down to tie your shoes, over and over and over, seems to have contorted the soft and lightweight metal around your glute muscles.

What part of "I never sat on it" don't you people understand? It was NEVER SAT ON...it resided in my pack pocket from time to time and began to shape to fit my @$$.

Stop trying to blame me when a LOT of people had issues with "Bendgate". FFS.
