It seems that apple removed the new ipad pro ultrawide back camera to make it thinner.
it looks weird from its back with that unsimilar black circles from behind.

The base version probably has slower read/write speeds again like the previous gens.

Does anyone have any experience with how much that impacts it? 256 would be enough for me in terms of storage, I am worried about speeds.

Existing iPad pros are good enough and fast enough for everything. The problem was their price.

So what does Apple do? Overspec iPad pros and raise prices by $200 across the board. New gen iPads are cool and all, but I'm not paying that kinda money for a couple of nice-to-have updates from my existing M1 powered iPad pro.

And yet - iPads can do lots of things that MacBooks can't. Why can't people understand that? Your use case is not everyone else's use case.
I have a pro + pencil + magic keyboard.

Yes they can do things a MacBook can't. But if they gave the iPad a much better OS then you wouldn't need a MacBook because the iPad has better hardware, more accessories and the best processor Apple makes.

But right now the iPad is better at some things and a PC/Macbook is better at some things. If they made the OS better it would be the best in all things. But Apple is too scared. They bring the best they have to the table but refuse serious advancement of the OS.

So Apple Card financing is only offered over 12 months. Has that always been the case?

Looks like you can only get nano texture glass in the 1TB or 2TB models for some reason. And how is nano texture glass going to work with Apple Pencil?

Macbooks can do things an ipad cant and vice versa...but to say ipad has better hardware ...please, im in Maya 3d modelling projects business, and M3 M4 is way too garbage comparing to the M Max family in the gpu compartment

1240 USD for the 256 GB version of 11" and 1930 USD for the 256GB version of 13" here in Sweden🤣🤣

Edit: I'm still very happy with my 11" iPad Pro 2020 anyway, so i'm gonna stick with it for a couple more years😊

M3 was such lacklustre that I am not surprised at all. Hardly an update, basically it was a rebranded M2 which in turn was an ever more meagre update. Hopefully M4 will be decent.
M2 to M4 is almost double...so is far beyond decent thanks to the new thermals as well...hoping it will work better at full blast, the next iphones will need it too as well because they reached the normal thermals inputs

Until Apple stops supporting it and will not run any new version of iPadOS and third-party apps.
That's years away. I've already got two years of use out of my Air and only paid $450 after tax for it -- started at $648 after tax and including AppleCare+, but that included a $100 Apple Gift Card (good as cash for me because I have an Apple One subscription) and I paid for it with discounted Apple gift cards (back when you could get them for 15-20% off).

I should get at least 4-6 more years out of the iPad, which makes it $55 - $75 per year. That's not too bad for something I use almost daily.

For the record, I’m not poo-pooing the new Pro. But I just did a bit of quick math. I can buy a 13-inch Air AND an 11-inch Air for only $100 more than a single 13-inch Pro. I really have to think hard about whether I need the M4 chip, an OLED screen and 256GB of storage. As nice as they are to have… do I really need them - or want them, for that matter? An M3 chip in the Air would have been nice. But, again, with iPadOS, do I need anything beyond an M2? The Pro’s weight savings are also very nice. But if I’m going to work with the 13-inch connected to a keyboard most of the time, does it matter?

EDIT: After thinking about it, I have ordered two Airs - 13-inch and 11-inch.

We don’t want thinner. We need more battery!!
You can get more battery by adding a higher capacity battery pack or including a more efficient SoC. Apple went with the more efficient SoC. While total battery life didn't appear to increase, you get a lot more performance for the same battery life. For some workflows, that means an effective battery life increase.

If the nano-textured screen still needs a special cloth to clean it, then how does the nano-textured screen hold up to the pencil tip? Will the texture wear off and will the pencil tip wear down?

I was also hoping the haptic feedback would provide some surface texture mimicking. Such as the sensation of drawing on a paper surface. But then there is the matter of battery life.
