No one uses that lens anyway. I’d give real money if Apple would swap the wide for a telephoto on the base iPhone models. I have zero interest in a chonky Pro but would really appreciate being able to bloody zoom while taking photos. Real zoom, not that MP manipulated nonsense software zoom.
I was a victim of Bendgate...Apple told me I shouldn't put my iPhone 6 Plus in my back pocket...luckily my local store replaced the phone when they could see it was clearly bendy (TWICE).

Not sure this will be a problem with iPad....I can't see pockets being big enough to fit this as fashionable anytime soon.

If you click the info icon in the config when choosing storage, it says the 256/512 is nerfed and has one less core. Guessing binning/yield/segmentation the usual stuff. Like how base M2 MBAs have a couple disabled graphics cores.
That sucks. The 1TB upgrade in the UK is a ridiculous £600/$754!! That's a lot of money for <7 bucks worth of storage, ~16 bucks of RAM and one extra core.

Didn't logic tell you not to sit on any phone in your back pocket anyway?

Gee now they have made the jump to M4. Here we go with having Macs using M2’s and M3’s still. Have fun marketing all your other products Apple. Yes they are discussing more powerful NPU 16 times faster then the M1.
As I said a few days ago, it would have made no sense to artificially limit the iPad Pro with a lesser CPU, since the product category doens't get updated very frequently and Apple is keen to introduce new AI features that rely on the M4 - it would have stranded/strangled the iPad Pro for a couple of years.

Besides, why shouldn't the iPad Pro get the best CPU available? It costs more than most of the Mac computers.

I’m putting my money on the M4 Mac Studio and Mac Pro launching next month. There’s no way Apple would go with the M3 now—it would look like a major step backward. Given the competition heating up with the Snapdragon, Apple has to pull something big. Shaking up their usual release sequence could be exactly what they need to stay ahead.

I would always prefer an iPad that is 1mm thicker with better battery life to the thinne one!

But nonetheless, it is finally time to retire my 2017 iPad Pro!
I love the battery life but with my life on the road this thing being thinner and lighter won't be terrible. Now I just have to make sure I don't bend it by over-packing (bending incoming in 3...2...1...)

Kinda disappointing that the new 11-inch iPad Pro has a bigger battery (~+9%) than the outgoing version, a much more efficient SoC and it still gets the same exact advertised battery life ("up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi or watching video"). Surely that OLED isn't that power-hungry?

Looking nice… but the key issue is iPad OS and the price. They need a samsung DeX like interface really bad… otherwise its just better going for MacBook.

The M4 is really nice…

But again, the software and price needs to be right 😀
Stage Manager is pretty close to Dex already. I love it - and the ability to put things on an external display is "enough" until/unless they put an actual desktop mode on the iPad.

The problem is the focal length on the main lens necessitates a wide angle lens. If they returned to the focal length in older iPhones it would fix the problems of their own creation.

So best consumer hardware components on the market...WOW
and comes with iPadOS...LOL

Now all content creators can make those 'Can an iPad replace your computer?' videos all over again.
Spoiler: it wont.
And yet - iPads can do lots of things that MacBooks can't. Why can't people understand that? Your use case is not everyone else's use case.

I am wondering if this is due to thermal limits OR they want you to jump to a MBP for such things.
This was discussed at length here in the forums. The display engines are rather large and Apple probably didn't want to spend a lot of die space for a feature that most people won't use. Doesn't hurt to push customers to higher price tiers either.
