Its all about the customer experience with Apple. I have no Mac experience but i am great with people. Product can be taught. Empathy cant be taught .

First, I want to thank the people in this thread who are actually making posts with content to help those of us out who are still in the interview process. Your contributions have been invaluable.

I was able to apply information from this thread to my second interview today, and the recruiter seemed to really take a shine to me and told me she'd be moving me on to the actual job interview and that I'd get an email to schedule that soon. Lo and behold, the email arrived within 3 hours and I have an interview scheduled for tomorrow, which I gather is a fairly short turnaround. I hope to do as well tomorrow as I did today.

A little information from my second interview for people looking for that sort of thing:

1. It was very personable and didn't really feel like an interview. We had a conversation and interspersed into it were the normal interview questions like 'tell me about a time...' and 'what would you do...' and a few roleplay scenarios as well.

2. Empathy and making the customer feel like they were a real person that mattered seemed to be paramount. I didn't know some of the specific answers to the questions although I was able to general troubleshoot them, but the recruiter told me that it's not a big deal and that training would cover that kind of thing if I was hired.

3. I smiled a lot, she smiled a lot. There was a lot of smiling. If you're not a normal smiler, think about how happy you'd be if you got hired and smile about that. Smiling really communicated that you're comfortable and having a good rapport with the person you're talking to. It leaves a positive impression and will color their entire recollection of you later. Be happy about something even if it's not what's happening right that second.

4. When I didn't know the answer to one of the questions, I took it as far as my general knowledge would let me, empathizing with the 'customer' the whole way, and then simply said 'I'm not sure what to do next'. She seemed to appreciate that instead of me bumbling on and trying to BS through it.

I know Apple offers vacation time and paid sick time. But is there any unpaid time off available to AHA's if things come up? Also are there breaks often?

We are unable to comment on this kind of information due to NDA. Best advice I can give you is to Google it.

Hi guys. Thanks for all the awesome help you all have given so far. I have a second interview tomorrow (different position but it seems to follow the same timeline), and was wondering - did ya'll mostly FaceTime on your phone or laptop? I want to have the interview on my computer so if I have the program running, will the call come to my computer?

Thanks and good luck to those still in the running!

What position are you going for? If it's chat, I wouldn't suggest on your phone as you will need to have a typing sort of role play.

My Hireright shows complete (I just submitted it on Tuesday). I was in my last position for over 10 years. However, it says there are discrepancies. My last job said I started the job a couple of months sooner than I listed and left a few months later. I put my adjusted start date (lost a couple of months due to an extended maternity leave) and I listed my end date as my last physical day in the office (they listed my last day on their payroll which was a few months later-it was a layoff.) So what happens now? Will someone contact me to explain my discrepncies? Thanks for any replies.

Hi everyone. :) I've been reviewing the comments on this thread for the past few days and from what I've seen, most people that apply for the position get their 1st call/interview either the next day or a few days later. I applied to 10 different areas near me for the Apple Care Chat 5 days ago and haven't heard anything yet. I have previous work-at-home customer service experience too for a major credit card company. I've been with them for 3 years now but am looking for a company that promotes growth. Prior to my current job I was a customer service supervisor (I started out as a phone representatives) for a major cell phone company for 6 years. I also have 2 college degrees (an associates and a bachelors). How long did it take for those of you that have heard back, to get your first call??

For some reason my post was duplicated. I'm just editing it (since it can't be deleted) so the same thing doesn't post twice.

I think it was about 5 or so days for me. Just keep an eye out for a San Jose, CA number on your caller ID and don't lose hope. Some people said they got theirs weeks or even months after applying.
Thanks that makes me feel a little better. I get my hopes up every time the phone rings. Did you get the position?

Any idea how long it takes to hear back after the third interview. She said 2 weeks is what she is supposed to tell me but that I could hear back tomorrow or Monday.

Don't think that's a deal breaker. You could email your Recruiter and provide an explanation. When a layoff occurs you are actually on the payroll and officially an employee even though you are no longer reporting to work as they calculate the number of weeks severance, or lump sum pay.

Sounds like your BGC came back quickly. I've had to provide W2's, Earnings Statements, alternative contacts for employment verification and after all that it's been in the "In Process" state for almost a week. I went through a security clearance with the FBI & Homeland Security for the construction of a secure site easier than this.

In the end the BGC is only part of the hiring process and helps them make a decision. It's up to Apple as to how much stock they want to put into those bgc results.

Good Luck!

Any current employees that can answer a question..it will not violate the NDA

I busted laughing at your post because you didn't actually list the question which probably means it violates it. Either way I believe most of us in here haven't started yet to know anything more than we have been told and those who started way before August tend to disappear and make minimal posts because people have been known to lose their jobs for giving any info past the hiring stage. The NDA is pretty specific

Why not ask the question and see if any of those who have already started feels they will be safe. No disrespect either, it's just you know how hard it is to get with Apple. Hope your question can be answered.

Oh no it definitely doesnt violate just curious about whn pay dates are..days of qeek and next one..

This is a question that I want to know myself, but don't think anyone will answer. I was even tempted to call HR and ask, but was like umm better not. LOL. I keep saying well it's only one more week, you can wait that long to know. It's getting better each day lol.
