This whole process is so confusing to me. I've applied for tons of the AHA positions, all of the AHA Chat Team and I-Tunes Chat team positions and have been applying every time I see them posted since February of this year but haven't even gotten as much as a Phone Call. I have a Cover Letter, Resume is uploaded and targeted at my strengths in the positions and I even have a friend working in I-Tunes Chat team who was kind enough to refer me. All of my previous jobs have been in Customer Service / Hospitality and I've been working with Computers since the early 90s, it's disheartening and makes me wonder if there's something I'm missing. I love helping people more than anything and I wish I could just get a chance.

Sorry about the rant, it's frustrating. Does anyone know an average of how long it takes to get a call?

Not sure what the average is, but I can share my experience to help a bit.

I applied about 6 months ago. Like you I created my Apple resume, targeted to the specific position to show my strengths and my long successful work history of providing IT/customer support. I too did not receive that call. After a few months, I happened upon this forum. I read almost every post so I could get a sense of timing and what to expect.

I saw what appeared to be an increasing number of people talking about getting that illusive call and went back to the jobs website and found a position posted for my state. I updated my cover letter and uploaded my full resume - all 5 pages of it! This is the resume I always kept for my benefit, and never sent it for a job opening. It was to long and had every skill and technology I had worked with throughout my career. If I could just talk to someone, I could show them how I was such a good fit for this!

I got a phone call a couple of weeks later!

I'm not sure if it was the change in resume, or just the fact that hiring appeared to be picking up before the holidays. It didn't matter, it was my time to ensure I was fully prepared for the interview process, and to show them what I could bring to this position.

It sounds as though your frustration is coming from the fact that you want to work for this company and in this position in a major way. Everyone here can understand that.

Don't give up! Some people here lucked out and got that call quickly, but they are the minority. Most had to wait and kept applying until one day when you least expect it that call will come!

It will happen for you too! "Think Positive". ;0)

This may be a stupid question, but do you have to have a landline phone for the at home advisor phone position? If so does it have to be a separate line from my regular home phone? This hasn't been brought up in any of the interviews

You just need an Internet connection. :)

Has anyone on here been interviewing and looking at the November class for Phones? I have had one interview and scheduled for my second next week. I just was curious who else was going through this w/ me for Novemeber start dates.

I just had my first interview call today!!! I'm so excited. My next interview will be this coming Monday via FaceTime. If I get the position I will also be in the November phone class.

I did get my offer call about 24 hours after my interview. I may get a lot of flack for this but I declined the offer. Had I got the offer at a different time in my life I would have definitely taken it. But with a young son at home, I just couldn't give up my holidays and nights to be taking phone calls. Best of luck to all of you who have applied or who have gotten the position!

The requirements state ergonomic. Keep in mind you will be spending a lot of time there, so you should have a comfortable setup.

I'm starting on 9/14 too! Just waiting on my paperwork now... ;0)
