Went thru 3 interviews back in July, got rejected after the 3rd, surprisingly, Reapplied for about 12 different positions and areas, still nothing. Am i black listed or anything? Is it pointless to keep applying?
My understanding is you can only interview every 6 months. So even if a recruiter called you now they couldn't recommend you for an interview.
I'm an ex computer science major, Apple investor, beta tester, and long time customer service/tech support rep for a cell phone carrier and declined an Apple position early last year then got laid off within 30 days of declining that position. I reached out to my previous Apple recruiter and went through the interviews last December (had all three) and two days before Christmas I was declined. Reached out for feedback and was told I should apply again within six months for that position however I could apply for other jobs immediately.
As of June I emailed and called that initial Apple recruiter and never heard back. I've applied for every position within applecare for on the phone and chat and nothing however there was some ladies on here that had said they got declined when I did and now work for Apple as of September. I've yet to hear anything from anyone. To make matters worse some of the recent job postings for Applecare show me as already applied as they re-used previous postings and just changed the posting date so I can't even apply for those again.. example there was new postings at the beginning of September that were re-used from an earlier date and because I previously applied and they re-used it I can't apply for the newer postings.
What's sad is that I literally help people who are doing the job now. When there's an extended wait for a tier 2 rep I get a text asking how to resolve this issue or that. Most things I know off the top of my head yet I can't get my foot in the door. I've also helped some others with interview prep who now work for apple and even know a couple of people that despite Apple's standard (most companies say this) "you can move up after your first year" that have moved up in some cases three times their first year.
I also know someone who is now a recruiter (they moved up three times their first year as well) and was told that it's a third party who does the initial selection from the pool of applicants and the initial screening. Employee referrals regardless if it's from someone just hired up to someone who does recruiting themselves for apple all go to this third party.
I know it is hard. I've been unemployed for a while now trying to find something good I can excel at. When you make it to the third interview it means Apple wants you and the person that does the third interview is a team lead who may or may not be your boss. If that person for whatever reason doesn't like you then you're automatically not looked at for six months for that job and possibly not given the first look at other positions. It's unfortunate because my previous employer had random team leads who may not be someone's boss also do the final interviews and I'm unbiased on this as I never had to go through that with my employer however I knew many team leads and many wouldn't hire people because of looks, bias, etc.. That's the roughest part.
The lady that got declined the same time as me who now works for apple had said she just didn't click well with the team lead that did her third interview back in December and the one she had her third interview with around August was amazing.
For me my first two interviews were amazing and the third was with a team lead who kept pausing the FaceTime interview and genuinely seemed preoccupied and uninterested in what I had to say. Huge difference when my second interviewer specifically stated she was wow'd during our interview and the third didn't see me as a good fit for the company at that time.
