GOOD LUCK! I just heard back about a grammar and typing test. Why did you have to wait 6 months?

Because when I applied for a different apple position with Kelly I was told by the interviewer that they saw I applied previously for a different position and was not selected, at that time i was told to wait 6 months before I applied for any positions again.

I have a Skype interview today with KellyConnect. I hope everything goes well... tad nervous

They are easy. Very basic questions. And you'll get asked one or two troubleshooting questions as well. Don't be nervous just be yourself.

Does anybody know what the schedule is like for Kelly chat advisor? Is it 8 or 9 hour shifts with 1 hour lunch? 30 min lunch? Two 15 min breaks etc?

During the interview the recruiter explained that the shifts will be 8 hour shifts with a 30 min lunch and two 15 minute breaks. One 15 min break being before lunch, and one being after. The actual schedules will vary, but fell in-line with most 1st 2nd and 3rd shift schedules.

Just asking because I got confused wondering if for instance it's a 7am - 4pm or 7am - 3pm when you include lunch and breaks .

disregard this
Don't worry. If that was at the end of the application, it's only saying no appointments available for your skype or facetime interview, but as soon as some become available they will email you and they will also call you! Did it say check back frequently?

Thanks, I actually checked my email right after I posted that and saw an email with a scheduler to make an appointment for a phone interview. Oops, :D

That message really made me think something went wrong somewhere, though.

I've read through the last several pages of the forum and had a few questions if people don't mind.

I'm very interested in applying as I have a strong computer/technology background, have worked in customer service for most of my career, and worked in a phone center for nearly 5 years. I also have a BA and management experience... hopefully all things they like to see!

It seems like it's been awhile since Apple directly posted openings. Has anyone heard if they will be posting for hiring again soon?
I've been checking back frequently and haven't seen anything on their site aside from the college openings. I'd have assumed that they would have been hiring those month to gear up for Christmas.

Thanks everyone, and good luck!

From what I've heard, they actually prefer that you DON'T have a strong IT background. And you're right. It's strange they didn't hire at least for the holiday season. Looks like they're only hiring college students now with the specification that "Student must be enrolled at selected university for a minimum of two semesters or four quarters." I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like a legal way to get around hiring anyone older than 25.

I work 1:30-10cst with a 30 minute lunch, which is a closing shift. But they offer different scheduling options. you can work 4 10 hr shifts, 5 8hr shifts, or 6 6hr shifts and you can request a 1 hr lunch. I know they have also been lenient with scheduling times for the lunches, say you work but you need to pick up your child at 3:30 from school, if you ask your tl you can schedule your break or lunch for that time to accommodate. schedules vary, and they usually work with your requests as long as they aren't outlandish.

I have been checking too and haven't seen much. Kind of disappointed I didn't hear anything around launch date or around the holiday season. I have very similar experience and background to you and have some management certifications, so I was hoping to get in as a manager right away if I could. Hopefully they start hiring again soon. My friend got lucky enough to get in as an advisor and he had less experience then me so I know I can do it.

I've been checking daily... this seems like the longest they've ever gone without having At Home positions posted. :( I thought for sure I'd see some around mid-November to ramp up for the holidays. Maybe they're getting enough people from their college programs that they don't need to plumb the general population right now.

I desperately need to find something new right now because the hours and stress of my current gig are literally running me into an early grave, and from that standpoint it sure ain't with it. I know I can do the AHA gig and it would be a lifesaver right now... sure wish they'd post new jobs so I could get a shot at an interview!

You and me both...I am desperately looking for something new, but I live in an area where there isn't much around in terms of IT unless I am willing to travel 60-75 minutes minimum to a big city. I wish all the luck to you as I wish for myself in hopes of finding something new.

I did a search for kelly in this thread and the first thread that was archived and read pretty much everything (plenty of posts). I'm still wondering one thing. How difficult is it to go from Kelly to Apple? It looks like from what I've read at least one poster here interviewed with Apple separately and landed a job with Kelly experience on the resume. Some agencies negotiate a 6 month window between the companies they service but I'm having trouble finding evidence that this is the case here. Also it seems there was another post from one person attesting to the fact that they had known a few people that got their foot in the door at Kelly and managed to land a job at Apple after applying separately.

I'd definitely appreciate it if someone could chime in here that may be more in the know about the technicalities.

Anyone have any luck through Kelly? I applied but it said to check back frequently. Not sure how much of a wait they would have. I've applied at Apple directly 6 different times...
