They do post iTunes chat a few times a year, that's what I was hired on for. I LOVE it!!! Love my managers and my schedule, don't have one complaint!

Hi. I will be starting Feb.24th in the Ios class. Was just wondering though. I received my phone call offer that followed the background check on Friday 1-10. How long did it generally take for you guys to receive your official offer email?

still nervous

Well my last interview is Monday January 13, 2013 8:30am pst
I hope I choose a good time. I didn't want to do it before what supposedly would seem like their lunch coming up or after so I am strategically choosing the first time that was listed. The 2nd interviewer seemed to like me..... She really liked my customer service skills. I didn't get a chance to go in an apple store though to get the feel of an imac..... I did study my cousins iphone and ipad plus looked up overview videos on macs. Was trying to find an emulator site so I could click around imaginably.... So I hope the thrive on good costumer service skills. And my willingness to learn about troubleshooting macs. The site did say mac knowledge is desired but also said if you have a strong knowledge of other operating systems and the wanting to learn I would be right for them......... I'll stop boring you.... thanks for reading.... cross your fingers for me.

update: just had the interview the agent had to call me instead of skype me. her skype was not working. Anyways it was just the same as the last two interviews said it would take up to a week to determine if I "made the cut". So crossing fingers again. She appeared to like my answers. No role playing though.

Was your process pretty fast, like week after week interviews?

That's odd there was no role playing.

I would suggest buying a cheap iphone 4 or a ipod touch. You can get iphone 4's with bad esn's for really cheap. It would help walking customers through steps if you were following along with them on your own ios device IMO.

Can any of you tell us how the call volume is on ios? And how long a typical call lasts?

Just hoping there is at least a little time between calls to catch breath and grab a drink of water. The last call center I worked in was b2bb2b2b2b2b calls the entire shift, not even time for a water break.

And do they offer any day shifts starting out? I know you have to work at least 1 weekend day which is fine with me but I really need days, or at least not working until 9pm or anything.

Her Skype was working. They are the people you do not want to deal with in an interview as they don't care. Usually you role play as well and if you did not, that means they don't care about it as they are not interested in you. I have heard this from other people too that did not make the cut.

Sorry man but I think that might not go anywhere.

well she didn't play the costumer..... She asked the steps I would take with a costumer in the situations she gave me. She was pretty believable. She works at home and she was in a high wind area. I don't think wanting to skype or not is going to be the choosing of her decision. I think it went will and just crossing .... The 2nd interview there was a lot of role playing..... if that means anything

That's not necessarily true. I had my 3rd and final interview a week ago and she told me that her Skype wasn't working. We did however, do role play so I cannot speak for that. But I got the background call last Tuesday. Submitted my bgc and received my verbal offer over the phone this past Friday. So every experience is different. Just waiting on my email with my offer letter.

only time will tell. right now counting down 4 days til I personally follow up. figures it lets them know I am still interested yada yada. I think this sounds like a stressful but interesting job. I have the costumer patients and tech savy knowledge.

On getting a job I will take your advice and get an iphone with a bad esn number and hope that will help me out as well.

3rd interview via Skype/Facetime usually means..

I was just told that a 3rd interview via Skype/Facetime usually means that the first Skype Interviewer cannot make the decision yet and needs another opinion.

Some people have been hired with only 1 Skype/Facetime interview.

You have a lot of third hand, unsubstantiated remarks in your posts. 3 interviews is standard unless you are applying for the student position. There is a first thread that has tons of information. I really suggest you guys take a look at the information in there rather than from someone who is taking wild stabs in the dark.

How is the call volume on ios right now? And is there a good chance of being able to get a chat position after being on phones a few months?

I would work OT like crazy on chat.

Call volume has died down after the holiday rush. You're probably looking at 2-5 minutes between calls right now. Chat is hard to get into but rotations do come up

I just got an e-mail from an Apple recruiter saying they were interesting in talking with me about this position. I replied with my full name and phone number BUT...

The format they asked for was:

Phone Number:

Last Name, First Name:

Should I just have replied in that format? I just thought it would be so improper to put:

Blow, Joe

303-321-6969

Peace.

What do you guys think? I replied within 5 minutes stating my full name and interest in the position, as well as my phone number and that I can be reached at any time...how long do they take to get back to you?

I'm paranoid because I know some people can be really anal when it comes to strictly following directions...

Luckily it was, heh. I got a call not long after that post and passed the initial screening. I have a phone interview tomorrow afternoon with someone that will ask me more "technical" questions.

Any advice from those who have been through this would be greatly appreciated. I really want this job. :D

Congrats, the first interview is pretty basic and pretty simple. They just want to get a vibe from you. Sell yourself. Show them you WANT the job and you LIKE Apple products. Apple strives on customer service so show them you can handle the customers and respect the customers. It seems like showing empathy and respecting the customer is waaaaaaaaay more important than knowing every technical thing in the world. My first interview the recruiter told me to freshen up on my technical talk. I think I went into things to technical. So take that for what it's worth and remember to not get overly technical. There's also a list on the old thread of 20 questions that you get asked. You only get asked 3 of them. Just an fyi they read this forum and probably saw those 20 questions because the 2 questions I got weren't on there. So be prepared on all levels not just what you see here.

I had 3 total interviews and all were done professional but relaxed. My recruiter is the nicest lady ever. I mentioned in an earlier post that she is the nicest person I've ever 'interviewed' with and I stand by that.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

This is a continuation of an original thread containing the comprehensive information you will need to get through all 3 interviews. I highly suggest looking over some of the questions asked during interviews and remember to focus on customer service!

Man, I do wish they would call me at some point, I am so super antsy. I cannot STAND my current job but can't leave there unless I have something lined up. And going on almost 4 months now from my first application, and almost 1 month from my second with an alt email, I'm kind of losing hope. :c I know I can do the job and do it well, I just want the chance to prove it, you know? Auugh so frustrating! /vent
