Man, I do wish they would call me at some point, I am so super antsy. I cannot STAND my current job but can't leave there unless I have something lined up. And going on almost 4 months now from my first application, and almost 1 month from my second with an alt email, I'm kind of losing hope. :c I know I can do the job and do it well, I just want the chance to prove it, you know? Auugh so frustrating! /vent

Have you tried submitting a cover letter with your application?

I was given an early shift right out of training but it's random out of training. We just bid on our new shifts and I got early again which is what I wanted :D

Did anyone luck out and get a day shift as their first shift out of training?

Day 4 no official phone call. I had the 3rd interview January 13 10:30am central time. I was told I would find out within the week. They again said they would submit my information.....
I called and left a message yesterday(Thursday) afternoon to my first interview call from the email. and emailed her as well did not receive a call or email back. I really need this job and to hear good news. Crossing my fingers I hear something. Been reading some of the older post. I hope that this training isn't pushed back. If I get the job that is. For those of you who have worked. What seem to be the normal shifts???? I am opening when/if I get the job that I can preferably close. and work a straight shift example(sunday-wednesday) or a (wednesday-saturday) Heck I wouldn't mind working both weekends either.

I got the call for my BGC the day after my final interview. Then the offer call a week to the day after my BGC call. The BGC itself went real quick. Only took 2 days. It just took me a few days to get them all the info and then there was a weekend mixed in too. It took like 3 1/2 months to get the first call from when I applied though. Luckily my spouse has a salary job with the state because I wasn't working during this time. She let me off the hook though since I supported her all 4 years of college.

Just a FYI, they WILL call everything you put on the BGC. And they will do a criminal check in every area you ever lived in. And they will pull all employment records. It's pretty intensive. It's probably best to tell them upfront. But, if you have something small from 7+ years ago you should be good.

Will my FT ring out if other person not on WiFi?

I am trying to FT and it keeps ringing but I know the person is there as we are emailing. If they are not connected to WiFi, will it still ring on my end when I call or should it say "...no available" as an error message? Any help is greatly appreciated!! :)

Make sure you both check your settings to receive the call.

I start the 24th as well.

A couple more questions..

1, I know our benefits kick in on day one, right? So we will get sick days and vacation days? Are we allowed to take additional time off on top of that? I got really sick last year and missed about 2 weeks of time(unpaid). They let me have it off but it was unpaid. So would Apple do the same? And what if we have used all of our vacation time or want to save it....are we allowed a day off(a weekend day) with a few weeks of notice?

2, who do you guys use for home phone service and what do you pay? I can't find anyone here that sells old school pots phone service anymore. I'm surprised there isn't an option to get calls routed to the computer and talk through usb headset. The only things I can find for a landline are Straight Talk home phone service(it's not through your internet). I'm sure it's not allowed though. Comcast isn't a provider here or any of the other major companies). I did find a local internet service that says they can run a line for me but they would charge $45/mo. $45/mo for basic phone service seems insane.

1.I believe you get benefits when you start according to the faqs. I don't know if sick days kick in right away. If I may give some personal advice show up to work as much as you can for the first six months... I am in no way trying to talk down what so ever. Just my two cents. Unless you get so sick you can't get out of bed. I would speak to your direct manager and they may give further information to your question

2A. I am in California my cousin and I split a $115 bill for all three services we have time warner.
2B. They provide you with a phone
2C. I do not believe straight talk is allowed. the reason why usb phone calls aren't allowed is a question I ask myself too

Ok Monday is the day i SHOULD get called. Stop pulling my apple tell me straight doc.... LOL

Do they tell you at the end of the last interview if you're hired? I was just told they would send their recommendations to management and to check my e-mail for something the next 2 weeks...

No. I got a phone call offering me the job 1 1/2 days later.

From what I can tell an email = bad and phone call = good.

----------

I was denied

Oh no. :(

Definitely re-apply.

Oh well. I would love the job but their hours are probably going to conflict with my classes anyway.

Background Check Question

:confused:I am being considered for the 3/3/14 training class and I understand that Apple will run a background check prior to a final offer. What does it entail (employment/criminal/credit), and how far back do they go? Normally a company will check back 7 years. The reason I am asking is because I do have a charge but it is from 18 years ago. I did disclose this on my application, but just wondering if anyone knows the specifics.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think you will be okay. I had some minor stuff from a little over 7 years ago and it didn't show up on the BGC.

You can login and see what all they searched for and what was found when they finish the BGC.

It checks for everything, it's a pretty deep and detailed BGC but you did the right thing by disclosing it ahead of time.

Travel Question

Hey guys,

So here's a question...please forgive me if it was covered elsewhere and I missed it. I may have to travel out of town during training. Totally available during the training times, just won't be at my home address for a few days. Anyone know if it's allowed to take your computer with you and continue training at a different location? Thanks!

I am going to place my doubts that they will allow you to take your equipment with you on account that there will be information that is vital to the company and wouldn't want you to take the equipment with you. I had a work at home job that required I be at home and I was not allowed to take my computer with me. This is just based on my experience.
