For those rejected

For those who were rejected after the second or third Facetime interview, what are your approximate ages? I had a friend who recently went through the hiring process who is over 40, but highly skilled in customer service and tech support. After the second interview, she was rejected with no reason given.

I applied on the 6th of April to the College AHA programme, I haven't heard anything back from apple yet. I haven't been asked to do a questionnaire either and when I try to view the job description the job says " Job no longer available"
is that the due to the time you have to apply for it or have the places been filled?
Is it normal to be waiting so long?

I applied in November and just got the phone call regarding the first interview 2 weeks ago. So, yes, I'd say this is normal. :)

Can anyone elaborate on what the tests are like during training? How many questions? what do you have to make on them? Are they iOS or Mac or both? Any info is very helpful.

I'm pretty sure that would be a breach of their confidentiality agreement and people would get fired for sharing that information.

Im not asking for the exact questions, but maybe some of the particulars. LOL, if you think thats a breach of confidentiality, then you should look back at some of the other q&a on the thread. Numerous topics discussed that i am sure apple wouldn't want to be out there.

If nobody can talk particulars, what were your thoughts of the tests? Tough and if so, why?

I'm sure it depends on the person and the department you're hired for. If you're asking if you'll be able to just coast through it, I imagine the answer is going to be no. You're likely going to have to put in the time and effort to pass, like any other class you would take.

I probably should have been more specific. I've been reading through the past posts the last few days and found a little bit of info on the tests. Some have said the tests were very tough and I am just trying to find out more as to why? One guy said he knew apple products well and failed the test. Others said it was really tough overall, but doable. Just trying to find out more. I know I won't coast through it all, wouldn't expect to. However, with one not passing a test and being fired, its a serious matter. Everyone here is excited and pumped about the interview and getting hired, but if the tests are as tough as others say and the consequence for not passing is getting fired...yeah, I definitely want to know more.

I would recommend applying for the position first. You will have 3 interviews with Apple before being offered the job. During those interviews you can ask those questions and they will tell you their policies about testing. Also, if you are offered the job and you don't like the paperwork you can decline the position.

What do y'all know about the landline thing? My recruiter stressed that I can't live in a dorm due to needing a land line. But a girl just told me her recruiter person said they're phasing that out and it isn't required so I can stay in the dorms.

Congrats! If everything went well on mine (which I can't imagine it wouldn't) we'll be seeing each other in training! :apple:

The person I interviewed with said that they will be using an in-houe VOIP client from now on so I wouldn't need to worry about it.

Great news! how were you notified?

You receive a phone call from your recruiter.

----------

The person I interviewed with said that they will be using an in-houe VOIP client from now on so I wouldn't need to worry about it.

Yes, apparently the 5/12 class will be the first class to use the Soft Phone requiring no land line or telephone.

There's no longer a requirement for a landline. However, they do require no background noise at all and it must be a private room.

Long time lurker. How long does it take to hear back about the BGC. I filed mine on 4-11 and have yet to hear anything. I called HireRight last Friday to which they said it was completed on 4-15. My applicant account and my recruiter both are saying in progress for the BGC. I am supposed to be with the May 12th class and I'm worried they won't give me enough time to put my 2 weeks in with my current employee. Is this a normal amount of time to hear back from them?

I filled out my BGC on 4/15 and got a call back from my recruiter on 4/22 so it took exactly a week.

Hmm. That worries me. I'm going on 12 days now since I filed it and all my recruiter has said is "ill reach out to you as soon as I have an update".
