Awesome! My possible date is supposed to be 11/26, but my third interview is Wednesday. I am thinking the class may be full by the time I pass/process at the rate things are going. They told me part time thus far, but I'd sure love full time.

Question, were you given any paperwork to fill out between 2nd and scheduling the 3rd interview? And how long after 2nd did they wait to set up the 3rd?

My spouse was left hanging after 2nd interview, it's been a week now. Thanks.

Very soon (like within an hour) of my 2nd interview, I got an email with a link to set up my third interview, and it also had a link to fill out the official Apple application. My second interview was last Thursday, and the first opening to choose for the 3rd was for tomorrow.

Then I will assume they are not interested :(

Good luck to you.

Don't assume....I applied back in July and thought they weren't interested and they contacted me October 10 and my whole process including bc and call with offer lasted 12 days since I got the call yesterday.

I am so sorry :(. After 2nd interview did they send you anything? How long since that second interview?

Thanks.

----------

So after you get the offer your training starts soon after? Do they send you equipment before training or do you use your own equipment?

They send equipment, including telephone and headset, computer. You have to have a fire extinguisher and meet a few requirements for safety and comfort in office set up.

I just got the same email today....:(
I do tech support now, so I had a lot of confidence and I do an advanced support and this was an entry level for me so the interview was easy as hell so I am pretty shocked.

I always wanted to work for apple, so I will give it a try again, although my status will probably still be the same, so need to find a reason they will hire me next time..

I just created an account on this forum to thank all those people who have provided a wealth of information.

I just recently discovered Apple's at-home program and am currently unemployed. Unfortunately, my unemployment runs out in 8 weeks so finding a job is the up most importance.

I have worked with PC/MAC hardware for 18+ years and have a network engineering degree with experience in just about every IT field outside of professional-level programming. I currently live in a small city located in Ohio however, and the amount of Tech work here is underwhelming to say the least This at-home program looks very promising. For one, they're hiring AMERICANS and not outsourcing this job overseas. And secondly, working for a name like Apple not only makes you feel all warm on fuzzzy ... but looks great on the resume.

I filed for a Columbus, Ohio position last night and this morning decided to file for Toledo as well. (Both being under 100 miles from my current residence). After some people suggested to make use of the Cover letter, I also went back and added a cover letter. This might be important as I sent them an IT resume which doesn't list any of my customer service experience, so I specifically stated in the Cover that I also had extensive customer service experience.

Really hoping I get a reply and perhaps make the cut ... before my unemployment runs out. I'd absolutely love to work for one of the leading tech companies in the world from the sanctity of my own home. I see this as a tremendous opportunity for someone with a tech background who is unable to locate much local work in the field.

To the others who are currently applying, best of luck and send some back my way. ;) I will update my experience on this quest when I have new information to share.

Thanks again to all of the excellent information.

Best wishes to you!

Thank you very much. I've never been so eager to here a response as the at-home situation is something very beneficial to my current circumstances. (Basically a stay at home dad while the lady works the late second shift as a RNA)

This would truly be a blessing to me and my family. As it gets me back into the "IT scene" while being able to make efficient use of my time with no commute.

Only thing I wish I did different was include my Mac experience in my resume. Honestly, it's been awhile since I've touched a Mac so I sort of feel like I would be fibbing if I listed it as a main feature of my experience. But from what I've read, this isn't necessarily a deal breaker to begin with.

Hopefully I get a response which will allow me to go into detail about my experiences in the IT field. I actually own a NeXTStep Turbo, which is the company Jobs started after leaving Apple. Mac OSX is actually partially based on the NeXTStep OS. Being mostly a PC guy, after the release of OSX I had a new found respect for Apple since then.

Though, I feel I might be setting myself up for a HUGE disappointment if I don't hear anything and/or are denied in the next 2 months.

You will see from the posts on this forum they are big into customer service. The interviews focus a lot on that and very little on IT. But............ getting your foot in the door would be the good thing.

Added "General resume including general labor, sales, and customer service available on request" to my IT resume ... just in case.

Hopefully you don't get points off for updating your profile, as I've done it 4 or so times. lol

BTW, I've sent my formatted resume in pdf format. I received no error when doing it so I assume it's acceptable?

I sent my formatted resume in pdf format and I'm having my third interview tomorrow. :) So I'd say that format is acceptable.

Best of luck to you!

Yeah focus on the customer service side. They want someone to talk people through solutions not some crazy IT answer. I have no IT background I'm just an Apple fan that knows my way around apple products. As you can see in previous posts the questions are rather simple and the people with the fancy IT degrees are getting passed over! Customer service customer service customer service! You'll be fine.

Hopefully the IT resume doesn't completely scare them away from giving me a reply. As I said, I have extensive customer service experience in a variety of settings .. though it's been awhile.

Not too worried about the lack of current experience with Apple products, as I've always been a natural fast learner and am well versed in how to find useful resources on the internet. (hence why I am here :D) Anything tech related comes pretty natural to me.
