You will know once training starts :)

I've been on the job for almost 2 months (iOS) and I will occasionally drop in on this thread but once someone actually gets hired there isn't much point in visiting here. The job itself is OK, the biggest perk being the ability to work from home. The downside is that it is NOT tech support, its customer service and I'm already burned out on 13 year old iPod owners and iTunes Apple ID password problems.

Apple does try to take care of their employees and if you're young and have a limited amount of experience its a great gig. For me its just a temp income maker until I can relocate and get back into network admin. where I have limited exposure to consumers at large. From what I hear, the CPU team is more tech support oriented but I can't move to a different team until I have 6 months in:(

That is kind of dumb. I was offered full time CPU and start Dec3. I would gladly trade with you! Nothing against CPU I just have a passion for iOS and am working towards my software development degree to hopefully work for apple doing iOS engineering.

Do you get the new thin iMac? Also what's the class like is it a video feed from apple? Or just something you go over as a class a book type.

You bet! Are you starting training, been training or still in the hiring process?

I don't think so... I'll unbox it and have it all ready on the table if in case they ask us to. I don't think they will be having us setup the phone today.

Yeah, I am going to have my USB headset already plugged into the iMac and just have it laying on the table next to me. I am sure they'll be asking us to put them on right away after logging in.

Im ready also!!! The history!

Haha... I'm complaining because had I waited a few weeks to apply I would be on the CPU team, not iOS. I'm a computer guy, not a mobile device guy. I'd switch in a heartbeat if I could. As far as SW development, I've done some Android but mostly Linux stuff.

Well now we know about those hired that became ghosts. On day one of training this site was on the top of the list as a no-no LOL. :apple:

I'm sure they watch this carefully too. That sucks, no more inside stuff on training and stuff

Its my understanding that it must be a ATT&T RJ12 phone line. Cannot be something like Charter phone..Right? :(

really? i didnt get any specifics on the company. we have comcast in this area. if i need a different company i need to know asap.

Phone

It could be something like no skype. I plan on going with charter phone. I guess ill ask that during a phone interview.

ya, all i remember being told was that it must be a dedicated land line. no IP phones (vonage type stuff). the line im getting from comcast is just a standard house line.
