I talked to my Kelly recruiter today and he said everything on my side is good to go I just have to keep waiting for the staffing people to contact me. Which I take as my background check to come though. .
Oh the waiting game. I waited about four days before getting contacted.
Ultimately what it boils down to is whether or not your interviewer liked you. Once you do get hired you'll need a modicum of reading and study skills... hence my IQ requirement of 90.
My IQ is actually 88 (just north of a Fox News viewer) but I got the job by smiling a lot and saying, "Apple is the most awesomest company ever" every few minutes. As far as the empathy part, I told them my heart breaks at the mere though of an iPhone customer not being able to sync gmail contacts.
and the valium you'll need is also covered by the health care plan.
Yes it's the one game I hate! That's not my only worry. My apartment is only 700sq ft. The way it's set up is stupid! There is only ONE phone outlet and it is in the kitchen, then since AHA have to hardwire the iMac and not use it over wifi, I only have cable hook up in the living room, so idk how I'm gonna rearrange my living room to suit the needs. The fact that I have massive wall vents on one side in the living room doesn't help with space much, as I can't put a desk over there, can't put it in front of the window cuz I have a wall a/c unit. Can't put it next to the kitchen, cuz it has an open island and don't wanna risk it getting wet. No matter where I put it, I'm gonna have to get a long phone cord to go from the kitchen to the desk. Like I said before idk what desk to get, I need or that will fit the iMac and all the stuff that comes with it, my ipad, the phone, my laptop. So I need one that will not take up half my living room. I would like to think IF I get the job after a few months, I would of been able to save up some money and move to a bigger place or get a 2 bedroom apartment. My place I'm at now was built in '69 and have not updated anything but the stove, fridge and that's about it lol.
LOL thanks... at least I know what I'll be getting into if I can switch to CPU. My worst calls this week have been iTunes billing issues... those have ruined my AHT and Esc stats. I probably wouldn't hate this job so much were it not for iTunes Store and Apple id junk.
For some people it's the schedule, for others - they move on to better things, for many... The job just plain sucks after a while. All the calls are just variations of the same 10 issues... over and over and over. I've said it a million times, if you like customer service you will probably like this job. If you like technical challenges and problem solving you WILL ultimately hate this job. End of story.
Is there any chance once hired in this position to bid on other at home positions in the company?
Thanks
Just checking to see if anyone who has applied directly with Apple in the past week or so has been contacted. I have applied so many times under several ID's and still no word. I have created a great cover letter, my resume is good, I have applied for over 20 positions, and still no reply. I have had call-center experience, an enormous amount of customer service in previous management positions and currently am in a management position. I just really need to work from home, which is why I am pursuing this opportunity. I recently moved to a very rural area and was able to easily get a job, the drive is just too much for me. I am starting to get a complex because so many other people have been contacted and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong? Not sure if I have too much education or too many management positions and they don't think I will stay? Not sure if I should "dumb down" my resume and cover letter.
No, AG is correct. Having tech skills, or certs etc, is of no advantage in either getting nor succeeding as an AHA. Sure, you must've seen a computer before, maybe sent an email before, but what really matters is can you make a customer feel that their money spent on buying an AppleCare aggreement. How is this done? The obvious answer might be by fixing their issue, but that isn't always the case. Making the customer feel cool for buying apple stuff is just as important, often more so.
You see, I was under the delusion that this would be a great start to an IT career.....I couldn't have been more wrong. This is a great start to a customer service / call center career. Don't get me wrong, Apple is a great company with great benefits for their employees, but it comes at a great price, your sanity. Even though you get sick time, you are punished for using it. You cannot take a sick day without accruing an "occurrence point". During the holidays you will work your ass off with mandatory OT (not bad if you need the money, but it will drive you nuts)
As for who and why they hire who they do, it's a crapshoot. They love people who they think will blend into the Apple mentality which is talk like a skateboarder, and rave over their over rated products.

Have you tried to apply for a team manager with Apple I do believe I seen that when searching the at home positions

I
Before I apply is there anyway to tell if I will be chosen for part-time or full-time?
Thanks
I can't disagree with AG about iOS, but I do work the CPU queue, and I have nothing but positive things to say.
The CPU queue isn't bad at all. It's not mind numbing at all. I get something different everyday. While most calls are things I can handle easily, that is a good thing, as it keeps my stats up and helps me be a standout on my team and in my queue. If you ;get CPU, you do need to have some technical knowledge, or your stats will be crap.
As far as opportunities, there seem to be quite a few. A few people from my team are cross training in iOS to be full time mentors on a rotation. I've had people rotate to account security, and I'll be training to be a team manager backfill. I've seen plenty of emails to try a rotation of some kind. I haven't seen too much movement to Tier 2, but at the beginning of my tenure, I saw about 25 people get hired to Tier 2 for iOS. So the possibilities do exist.
I'd be happy to answer any questions that I can about the CPU queue.

Ok since no one has answered my earlier questions (which I understand why not) can someone at least tell me the next payday and if you are paid weekly or bi weekly.![]()

i talked to hireright on the phone and they said they would contact him through the information i gave them so it seems like i should be fine right ? Also i havent received my offer call/email yet but I'm hoping it comes today or tomorrow. (the last two days of my "youll get a response in 5 days notice") Did most people who got a hireright email receive a job offer?
Thanks !
You won't get any call/email until your background check completes.
How long (on average) do you think that takes from the time your BGC completes? Plus, has anyone here that's being considered for the 5/20 start date gotten an offer call yet? Getting anxious, my BGC is finished and I'm going nuts wanting to know either way...
