Ooooohhhh my gosh...I have been waiting for somebody to at least insinuate that very thing, and boy, would I love to believe you.

Why would you not believe him? and about what?

----------

i applied for this 2 days ago got a call from a lady an she asked what cpu was what software an hardware is an some other little stuff. Then said she was sending me to the next step an that i have the knowledge an set a time for me to have a facetime interview on monday so thats cool

Let me guess..... Was her name Margaret? :D

----------

I was offered 17.00 an hour and I'm in texas. I don't know how all these people have applied within the last week and have already gotten calls. I asked my interviewer today what was the date of my application and he said November 18, 2011... TWENTY-ELEVEN.

Just checking to see if anyone who has applied directly with Apple in the past week or so has been contacted. I have applied so many times under several ID's and still no word. I have created a great cover letter, my resume is good, I have applied for over 20 positions, and still no reply. I have had call-center experience, an enormous amount of customer service in previous management positions and currently am in a management position. I just really need to work from home, which is why I am pursuing this opportunity. I recently moved to a very rural area and was able to easily get a job, the drive is just too much for me. I am starting to get a complex because so many other people have been contacted and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong? Not sure if I have too much education or too many management positions and they don't think I will stay? Not sure if I should "dumb down" my resume and cover letter.
yes i applied for the job 3 days ago now an they contacted me yesterday, and now i have a facetime interview monday an as far as dumbing down no iv done allot of IT work from server&t3 install to pos systems and more an i told them all of that

Still no response from Apple. No news is still good news I guess.

Retro: what exactly did they say? Was it just an offer or did they ask you more questions?

She called and offered me the job and i will be getting an offer email in the next couple of days. I need to accept or decline the email. She told me about doing paperwork session and when i will be getting a computer.

Awesome. Do you think I should wait it out or email my recruiter? I don't want to miss the 5/6 class :(

Well she called me Friday morning and i was in the shower so i didnt answer. I called back right away and left a message. I waited all day and no call back so I emailed her again and she called me back right away. It doesnt hurt to email and say i am just following up.

Who was it? A chick named Latoya (I think that's what her name was, lol)

Still Applying

Your English skills are too good. Use questionable grammar and plenty of buzz words like, "awesome", "rockin" and "stoked" in your cover letter and you'll be fine.

I'm joking... Kind of. Your best bet would be to apply for a team manager spot right from the get go. Go back to jobs.apple.com and search for "AppleCare Area Manager". It doesn't matter if it's in your city or not. The qualifications are pretty minimal and it sounds like you have the background.

Absolutely DO NOT dumb yourself down just to get an AHA adviser job. You might get hired but you'll end up being miserable.

AG- You are hilarious! I needed a good laugh! I was worried perhaps I was too articulate or didn't misspell enough words. You confirmed my suspicions. LOL! I will try that route, as well. I was just looking for a part-time, no responsibility(meaning not in charge of an entire staff, handling all the customer escalations, write-ups, annual reviews, etc.) so that is why I was going the AHA route. I want to work on MA in the fall so I was looking for something that is not going to be a huge challenge. I swear I don't mean to sound smug. I know it will have the same BS you have to put up with in any job, the part time with benefits from home is the appeal for me. I will keep trying, but maybe Apple is not in the cards for me? Thanks for all your feedback! Your posts are the highlight of this board! IMHO

WOW!! You applied in 2011? They are digging in the vault for applications. Wow! Congrats on getting a call after all this time! Best of luck!

Does anyone know, are ppl hired on by Kelly able to get over onto the Apple side eventually or is it better to just wait through for the Apple process to go through?

And, yes I really really want to work for Apple, on the Apple side, I got the 11 question email on Monday, but have not heard anything since then..... and it seems that everyone who passes the 11 questions gets their 1st official interview at least scheduled within a day or two. Did I just luck out at getting the recruiter that went on vacation for the week, or do I need to start over? Will I get the thanks for playing email if I didn't pass that part? I have tried calling the recruiter, but always get her vm.......
From the threads I have read it seems like it is not an easy transition from Kelly to Apple. I have even seen some posts where people quit Kelly to apply or try to work for Apple directly. I haven't even received the 11 question email and I have been applying since 3/27 for NUMEROUS AHA positions. Crickets. Nothing. No response. So you are further along than some of us. Best of luck! Read this entire thread and study the information passed along. It is a virtual road map for getting hired!

When paperwork was filled out, it said no Apple discount.

But now I see there *is* some type of small discount.

Nice.

I have noticed that too. I stumbled upon the Apple work from home opportunity while looking for a job to fill my lack of one. At that point, I was willing to take the Kelly opportunity since it was more expedient and get me employed quicker. My circumstances seem to have changed, and I am no longer quite as in need for a job right now, so I would prefer to get on board through Apple directly. I wonder if I might also be a bit overqualified as I have 2 years of work from home call center experience with tech support for a sister company to apple (more specifically I have been doing iphone troubleshooting for a cell phone service provider) and have work from home management experience. I don't know, I didn't think I was "dumbing down" my resume and such, but I have failed entirely to mention the management experience, but more because I am not sure I ever want to do that again. lol... Anyway I have read the thread and I guess it was out of need for a job that I was really worrying, but now that that is no longer an issue, I can wait and see where things go.

I just wonder, would I get a leg up for being with Kelly first (experience) or would Apple look at it as, why should we hire you, you are happy taking a 1/3 pay cut to do the same exact thing......

Given your circumstances and needs an AHA position might work out well for you if you're doing post grad stuff but if you do it long enough you'll probably be using the health care package for mental health services. Yes, the job has very few responsibilities and not much in the way of challenges... But that's the challenge. Generally speaking, reasonably intelligent people can only handle being a mindless drone for so long. Contrary to Apple's byline, if you do "think different" you'll neither fit into Apple's [cult]ure nor will you enjoy the job very much.

That's nothing but my own opinion and you may want to take it with a grain of salt since I am a certified curmudgeon and a card carrying skeptic.

Third Interview

Im to tired to read any of the past post... How long is it typical for someone to get an interview link to the third interview. I was told by the interviewer for the second one. But I was so nervous I totally forgot what he said, and am to embarrassed to ask him cause that would show that I cant retain details. Lol. :(

When I got passed to the 3rd interview, it took 5 days to get the link. No news is good news ;)

Well that's awesome! I'm hoping it comes tomorrow. :p but anyways after that... Did you get the job and how long did it that for that to come through?

I'm still waiting for my background check to clear. I haven't been given an offer... yet! :D

----------

Do Apple AHA's get Badges? Apple Badges? :) That would be awesome. Haha:)

Don't take this the wrong way, but why would at-home workers be given a corporate id badge? I doubt we get them...

Nope but we do get lots of free software including Apple Software, cool swag, and bragging rights that you work at Apple.

Thanks for the info! I'm trying to decide if I want to continue with the interview process. It seems pretty unreasonable to offer a part time position that "Is not intended for supplemental income or for students attending on-campus classes" that requires you to be available anytime between 5:00am-11:30pm CST 7 days a week for scheduling for only moderate pay. What makes it even more unreasonable is that you have to work 4 different days a week even though just working 20 hours. It seems this job is only suited for those that live with their parents and don't go to school or someone with a spouse that works with no kids because you can't commit to these hours or afford to live off the salary otherwise. The part time positions only for students at select universities actually make sense.

If you're in school then you need to go the college advisor route so they work around your schedule.

If its not available, then I wouldnt do it if you cant work the shifts.

It's not just your opinion, it's the sad reality of the AHA job. Mindless done is spot on for success as an AHA. Tech skills are not important, as you and I both know. I could not take another day, or another call pretending I cared that much about someone who had a self assigned IP address, or why iCloud was not syncing their photos. I was even less impressed by the whole Mac environment, and think of it as over priced junk.
Sorry, just had to vent, but AG, you know the agony of monotony....dude.

Nope, but you get a shiny badge number!

To those asking about Tier 2, they get paid on average $22/hr (when employed by Apple directly.) Tier 2 is also a full time position, but like all other AHAs on the phones, they are required to work a weekend shift. Yes, you do get a bump in wages if you are dual skilled as well.

I am interviewing for T1, and asked what the salary is. Its 17.00/hr in Texas. Or at least that's specifically what I will be making (Hopefully)

Well I do hear, and understand the pros and cons of working for apple as AHA. But when you will be making 8 dollars more an hour for less of a position than what I got now. And benefits from day one, all the perks. Hell yes I would take it. I work for the Government right now. I work in the Postal Division as a Clerk/ Retail. So of course I have the customer experience. And I also have the Technical experience. But I think if somebody was employed there and wanted to get a jump start/kick start on there career working as an advisor would be a great place. Cause Ill be dammed if you apply for a corp. job at Cupertino and it will be as easy as taking 3 Facetime interviews... NOT. Once you work there it will defiantly be easier to accel in the company... Right?
