Nope but we do get lots of free software including Apple Software, cool swag, and bragging rights that you work at Apple.

Bragging rights? You really are a koolaid-drinker, aren't you? Get hired by Google, then you'll have bragging rights.

----------

Cause Ill be dammed if you apply for a corp. job at Cupertino and it will be as easy as taking 3 Facetime interviews... NOT. Once you work there it will defiantly be easier to accel in the company... Right?

You actually need a bona fide skill set to work at one of the Apple campuses so I imagine the hiring process is much more rigorous. Pretty much any schmuck with an IQ over 90 can get an AHA job.

Having a lot of smarts is a liability on this job, not an asset. Patience with people and with repetition will be your biggest asset.

I haven't heard anything about the position lately from any recruiter so I guess I don't have a chance again. I have reapplied but with the same Apple ID as I did the first time. There is a Apple authorized service center in my area that is hiring for a bench technician so I might apply for that. I am not giving up hope for my chance to work for apple just yet.

I Applied for more Apple at home advisor jobs this weekend so hopefully I hear something today

over applying?

Does anyone know if you try to apply multiple times with multiple apple IDs if they will drop you from the application list? So if I were to create another email and apply to the same position with the new one if they have a way to figure it out (if it is not acceptable to do)?
Has anyone got results from creating several apple IDs and doing so?

My "Timeline"

Im new to this site so sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i applied for the AHA position a couple of weeks ago. I figured id post my timeline for some people and to see what you guys think.

3/20 - Applied for position working in the Apple Store near me.
3/27 - Received email from Apple saying "We contacted you because we think your skills may be a match to our AppleCare At Home Advisor position. Perhaps you're great at translating technology into a language people can understand?"
Basically asking me to apply for this position instead so i did right away when i received this email.
3/29 - Received phone call from an Apple recruiter. She asked me basic questions like "why apple" and what a CPU is and what the difference is between hardware and software. I was then told id be passed through to the next round of interviews. This call took about 15 minutes.
3/29 - Same day directly after i received an email saying my next interview was set to be a 20 minute phone interview
4/1 - Had second phone interview. She asked about my background in customer service. What i would use safe mode for and what empathy is and what an example is for it. Really basic easy questions. I was told at the end that i made it through to the next round and i got an email right after asking me to schedule a day and time for a skype interview. Scheduled it for 4/5
4/2 - Received an email asking me to "officially" apply for the position which i guess is different from the first time to apply.
4/5 - Had my Skype interview and i feel it went really well. We were both laughing a lot and i had some really good examples of when ive had great customer service interactions. She kept smiling and saying "i love it" after all of my answers. At the end we even did a fist bump over Skype! (per her request). I really feel like a did solid and she said i would hear back within 5 days. She also told me that they needed to fill this position quick and that they are very excited about my enthusiam and my interest in Apple.

The last part is what i have a question about. It seems like everyone said it took them like 2 weeks to get an offer or call back. I was told within 5 days so im hoping thats a good sign ! Also some people said they got a hireright email right away after their interview. I havent received anything, is that bad? Let me know what you guys think, id greatly appreciate it ! ps - i was told if i were hired i would be part of the 5/20 class as part time.

You usually get the HireRight email at the same day of your last interview or at least within 3 business days. Sounds like your interview went really well so you may get the email soon..

Well congratulations! It sounds like your interview went very well, and you may possibly have the job if you did a fist bump with her! :p I did my second interview with Apple Friday (just a few days ago) And I blanked out cause I was nervous when he was telling me the next time that I would hear something (Something to schedule my third interview). But haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully today? I got asked the exact same questions! Was your recruiter Margaret? :apple:

I sent an email to my recruiter to follow up on my employment process. No response yet but I hope this doesn't kick me out of the race.

5/13 start date. Good luck everyone!

I waited about a week.

Checked in with hireright today. bgc submitted last tue and now today it is finished. Now the Real Wait is now ey Retro??..hopefully they will get back to me this week..I Greatly stressed that if selected I will like to submit a professional resignation of 2weeks from current job...

AG, sad to say, not true. I have a higher than average IQ and still no response from Apple. :(

Well she called me Friday morning and i was in the shower so i didnt answer. I called back right away and left a message. I waited all day and no call back so I emailed her again and she called me back right away. It doesnt hurt to email and say i am just following up.
Have you gotten the acceptance email yet?

Thanks to all that replied to my post. Hoping to hear something soon. Supposedly going to be in the 5/13 class if the offer comes through. It's hard not to be anxious, but trying to take it one day at a time. Lol

No, AG is correct. Having tech skills, or certs etc, is of no advantage in either getting nor succeeding as an AHA. Sure, you must've seen a computer before, maybe sent an email before, but what really matters is can you make a customer feel that their money spent on buying an AppleCare aggreement. How is this done? The obvious answer might be by fixing their issue, but that isn't always the case. Making the customer feel cool for buying apple stuff is just as important, often more so.
You see, I was under the delusion that this would be a great start to an IT career.....I couldn't have been more wrong. This is a great start to a customer service / call center career. Don't get me wrong, Apple is a great company with great benefits for their employees, but it comes at a great price, your sanity. Even though you get sick time, you are punished for using it. You cannot take a sick day without accruing an "occurrence point". During the holidays you will work your ass off with mandatory OT (not bad if you need the money, but it will drive you nuts)
As for who and why they hire who they do, it's a crapshoot. They love people who they think will blend into the Apple mentality which is talk like a skateboarder, and rave over their over rated products.

Timeline for you guys!

Hey all!
I've been ghost reading this forum for my entire application process, but I thought I'd be nice and put up my timeline for anyone who is going through the same.

3/26 - Attended information session at University of Georgia (school i'm applying under)
3/26 - Application submitted
4/1 - Questionnaire
4/4 - Email to schedule interview
4/5 - Interview via Facetime (I can answer any questions if needed)
4/8 (today) - HireRight email asking for background check.

And that's where I'm at! I'm hoping the background check means I got it, seeing as I haven't gotten a "thanks for playing..." email, but you never know.

Hi everyone.

Thank you everyone for all of this wonderful information. I have read this entire thread from before my first interview. I went through the whole process and have completed my hireright forms on Friday. I was contaced today for additional information and now I am waiting for the offical offer.

The help I received from this thread regarding what type of interview questions to expect has been a great blessing. I would have studied the most technical information without this guidance. Empathy proved to be the big selling point. Provided all goes well, I will be joining the May 20th class.

Thanks again to all and for AngryGerbil for the downside as well. I love your sense of humor.

No not yet. She told me it would take about fove business days. Does anyone know if we get paid every week or every other week and when the next pay day is. Feel free to pm to answer me if the info is not for public.

I would like to know as well. If it is private. Please PM me to :)

AG, sad to say, not true. I have a higher than average IQ and still no response from Apple. :(

Ultimately what it boils down to is whether or not your interviewer liked you. Once you do get hired you'll need a modicum of reading and study skills... hence my IQ requirement of 90.

My IQ is actually 88 (just north of a Fox News viewer) but I got the job by smiling a lot and saying, "Apple is the most awesomest company ever" every few minutes. As far as the empathy part, I told them my heart breaks at the mere though of an iPhone customer not being able to sync gmail contacts.

Mine still says "in process":(
