look through it before hooking it up to the internet . they might have software installed that notifies them if the computer is currently online

.. not sure if you could tell us what you received? ..a lot of people have asked but no one answers lol

I'm working on a customer's laptop now but as soon as I finish I'll at least pull the iMac out and check the specs. Came in 2 boxes, one of them pretty big. I'm assuming it contains a 21.5" monitor... which I won't use since I have 2 - 27.5" Samsung monitors on my desk anyway.

The iMac is an all-in-one unit. No separate monitor.

FedEx just arrived, 5 minutes before call. LOL

I got my soft copies right before the call. She emailed me the tracking number for the packet it is waiting at home.

I said I'd report back and I learned during the call that digital phone through the cable is okay. No voice mail, no call waiting like I previously thought.

Oh and 9/24 class is iOS.

Wow this is a first. I'm sorry to hear that! Do you mind telling us if you don't mind what training class you were told that you were going to be in? Also if you don't mind letting us know how long after the HireRight submission did it take to get the email. Thanks in advance:) You can PM me if you prefer.

Was it for the AHA position? I hope to goodness a previous employer didn't mention something concerning you that wasn't positive and it got back to Apple's HR department. That can happen even if the background came back clean. Good luck to you!

they call your employers?

The iMac is an all-in-one unit. No separate monitor.

So I just found out. I forgot iMacs were all-in-ones. Anyway, it's a core i5 running at 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig DDR3 Memory and a Radeon HD 6750 GPU.

Not bad considering I get it with the job. If I actually buy a Mac it would probably be a single Xeon Mac Pro.... would never in a million years but a Mac at retail price though.

They sure do! I was even told that HireRight will ask whether or not the employer would be willing to re-hire you? They have to verify previous employment but they only go back five years. the criminal background check goes back 7 years. If your previous employer is more than five years old....it closes automatically and it's not verified by HireRight per client's guidelines and in this case Apple. At this point, I think Apple's actual HR department may verify info themselves.

With the issues that HireRight is having, I think Apple may have put some extra measures in place. HireRight is currently being investigated.

It is very important that you list accurate information on the forms that they require you to fill out and make sure your employment dates check out.

im worried i might be off by a couple of months .. i've done a few contract IT jobs and i'm kind of iffy on start and end dates

Just finished speaking with my team manager and I should have my equipment today :)

Im pretty geeked now. Ive read some people on here saying "ohh its just another IT job" but damn it this is Apple. This is going to look great on any resume. Maybe since ive been waiting to get into the real IT industry for a while. Ive had other jobs that were a little IT based but nothing much to brag about. Even though this is part time, im trying to make a lot out of this opportunity

All 3rd interviews today please keep us posted on your timeline/outcome today. Good Luck!! -Anxious

Ok, 3rd interview completed, and I think I hit it out of the park, hoping anyway. Interviewer was a really nice, friendly guy, and we chit chatted quite a bit. he said he felt with my background, Id be bringing something to Apple, which made me feel confident. He said Id hear something within a couple of weeks, and within 20 min, I had the Hireright email which I completed and sent on it's way. Was asked about my background, and some scenario questions which you can find in this thread. Asked how would I feel working from home, pros and cons. Stated to me that a digital phone line is OK!!!!!!! Got that everyone???? Not the Vonage VOIP type, but a line from Time Warner is ok, analogue or digital. About a 25 - 30 min interview, and a great guy. Start date would be 10/8 and it is working with the computers i.e. Macbook etc. I was wearing Shirt and tie.

Good Luck all.

Yes, it was for the AHA position. Hireright finished the background check Tuesday, and I got an answer from Apple Thursday of the same week. I would rather not say for what class I was told I was going to be in. Talk about a let down tho, all excited everything was good to go, and two days
later denied.

I contacted my last employer and they have stressed to me they ONLY give out dates of employment and position held. Many companies fear lawsuits if they give more info. I verifed this on two different times with them, and stated to me that is all they will give out. Maybe it's a Texas thing.

Thats good to hear, my 3rd interview isn't till next week, for the 10/8 class. I had second interview with a very nice blond lady I think she was working at home. She told me I would be working with imac, macs osx, so that must be what the 10/8 class is going to be.

You lucked out! I would have done anything to be on the OSX team instead of supporting iPads, iPhones and iPods. Maybe I shouldn't have worn an unbuttoned shirt and running shorts during my skype interview.... Still, they were dumb enough to hire me after the second interview ;)
