So you care more about a president being able to ride a bike rather than stabilize the country so people can live a decent life….got it.
You’re the one who brought it up.
And feel free to get back in 4 years about how decent your life feels.

Well, as an American, I would bet a paycheck that Tim Cook just bought Apple freedom from alternative app stores in the US.

Trump is very transactional. Tim is playing the long game here.

(I’ll keep my political opinions to myself.)

I would never EVER buy that stock, even if I were American and even if (in a completely parallel universe) I were Pro-Trump. They generate loss after loss after loss, always bigger than the last one.
There's no profit, and it's worth billions.

As per the article, I don't understand it AT ALL. Trump despises gay people for everything in the world. Why would he support him, especially with his own money? It's mind-boggling for sure 🤯
Did you hear trumps hates gay peoples on mainstream media?

I don't think Trump will have forgotten how Apple and its leadership have been supporting Joe Biden's administration. Also, Apple and Elon Musk don't seem to be friends as they had a few public clashes, something that Trump will not have forgotten either. So not sure what Tim Cook tries to achieve here?

If Apple wants to fight Trump of not bringing American jobs back to the USA, he won't win that one, as that was a key point of Trump his political agenda.
Actually Trump is not one to take revenge. He’s already saying he won’t prosecute any one of the people involved on the political witch hunt. He never went after Clinton either, so he’s not someone that would go after the corrupt, he understands it’s a dirty business. Elon on the other hand is a very vengeful person, I’m sure he will try for the government to go after Apple

America elected a President that can be bribed and who expects to receive bribes. Tim is just playing the game that has been set up for him.
As opposed to Biden, who's been peddling his last name for decades & whose family members have been flexing his name to curry favors & bags of cash and when caught gives unprecedented pardons to sweep the issue under the rug right?

When I first heard of this, I went straight for the MacRumors article and comments, wasn’t disappointed, wish I had popcorn.

Good for Mr.Cook, he has common sense left. Businessmen do it after each election for ages. What is so new here ?
It’s not new but lobbying of all types I despise, no matter who is doing it and whatever side benefits.

Unfortunately you try and prevent it then it reverts to lots of small “gifts” and through other shady means to try and hide it.

I never understood what sense those expensive inaugurations make. They costs more than $100 million each. That's as much as a Hollywood movie. They are paid by donations, but what benefit does the president have from that? Couldn't he make better use for so much money? Instead there are now a lot of donors who expect a favor from the president just because of that senseless inauguration.

This is nothing more than Bizzare... Trump hates anyone who is Gay or Transgender, for an openly gay man such as Tim Cook to donate to a criminal is BIZZARE what is wrong with america.. i mean really.
Looks absurd but Cook is there because of hardcore capitalism and he just also "happens" to be gay.
And as Marx taught the world, Capital is incapable of caring about people. It's technically operated by people but it's people who are accurately selected to guarantee they'll always put profit first.

The only reason US is not higher on the list of most corrupt countries in the world is that the whole political system is designed around corruption. When corruption is legal, it doesn’t count.

It’s literally the same act. A private entity pays a political body to obtain a benefit. The definition of corruption is that this payment is illegal. As long as it’s legal to pay the government for private benefit, it’s not corruption. But I challenge anyone to describe the difference.

The fact that this payment is made by Tim Cook and not Apple, only makes this abundantly clear. He’s obviously doing it to gain a benefit, but in Trump land, it’s more beneficial - and orders of magnitudes cheaper - for the person to be in good standing than the company. If Trump likes the person, he will provide the company with benefits. It is corruption, if not by the letter of the law.
