I agree with Steve
(I’m American though, so it’s “here”, not “over there” in my case)

As the saying goes
Watch what people do, not what they say

I don’t know about the other one, but “following the EU’s competition law in good faith” would definitely go against Apple’s historic values and what they have promised to us, EU users.

This is nothing more than Bizzare... Trump hates anyone who is Gay or Transgender, for an openly gay man such as Tim Cook to donate to a criminal is BIZZARE what is wrong with america.. i mean really.
WTH are you talking about?! That is very very mean fakenews and this comment should be deleted.

Capitalism and Fascism are two peas in a pod
That's the lie Stalin spread through the west using his agents and useful idiots in academia. There was never a smooth transition from a capitalist system to fascism, it required a coup or a civil war. If you look at today's China, it's a fascist state. They have a degree of market economy with strong state influence, just like nazi Germany. They've stopped using internationalism and class warfare as their core ideology, and went with nationalism, just like nazi Germany. They operate concentration camps to "deal with" religious and ethnic minorities, just like nazi Germany. They use their "glorious past" and racial superiority as a propaganda tool, just like nazi Germany. It was a gradual, smooth transition, not a revolution or a coup.

Yes, fascists and communists were mortal enemies, but because of their ideological similarities, not because their differences. They looked for support to the same group of people. In post-war Eastern Europe, the first ones communists dealt with were the social democrats. Not because they were the polar opposite, but because they were the competition. Btw, Mussolini was an editor of a socialist newspaper, before he ditched internationalism for nationalism.

The core of both is using the envy of gullible, working class people to gain power. Whether the target of this envy is jews or the bourgeoisie/aristocracy, is just a flavor. Realizing, that market economy (with strong state control) works better, than command economy, is the matter of time and intellect. And the choice between nationalism and internationalism is the matter of (geo)political realities, a foreign policy tool.

Does China use slave labor? Sure.
Is China executing hundreds, or even thousands of people? Wiping out entire countries….na. Is China engaged in military conflict with….anyone? Not really.

China is busy building an Empire, and they are winning. They dominate not only the technology, but also the raw minerals of the global renewable energy revolution. Not only that, they also dominate the global nuclear industry. But wait, there’s more….China dominates international mega infrastructure projects; building out ports/canals/logistic/manufacturing hubs across the world. I don’t see the US investing anything significant in Africa or South/Central America…. And what happened to America’s pivot to Asia? A few small military bases, that’s it.

Traditionally Fascist/totalitarian regimes are isolationist; China is the opposite of that…they’re a new kind of hybrid. It’s America that’s becoming more isolationist.

Yes on the execution part. For the second question... we'll see.

Yes, it is. Actively encroaching on foreign territory in the South China Sea. It's not a shooting war because of the power disparity.

Lol, no. Unless you count 1930s USA as fascist.

Fascism can exist on ANY ideology.

"Celebrity culture" creates a foundation for fascism by dividing society into the "elite" and the "crowd". "We are indispensable nation" is as fascist as the fascism can get.

I would imagine that Apple had been approached by the inauguration committee for a donation. Apple may have a policy of no political donations or that any donations need to be signed off by a committee. As that falls into the "too difficult/doesn't make enough sense for Apple" bucket, Tim probably decided to do the donation himself to make the issue go away. In terms of his wealth, it's like giving loose change to someone on the street.

Erm at his Florida estate Mar-a-Lago, He hosted a same-sex marriage.

Disclaimer for Tim: the pride wallpapers and Apple Watch bands and all the Apple 'inclusive' stuff means nothing if you're financially supporting politicians who openly are against the lgbt community.
They never did mean anything. A corporation sells stuff and will wave the flag of "what's happening now". What's happening now is DEIA has jumped the shark and the masses are sick of the bigotry.

If Apple wants to fight Trump of not bringing American jobs back to the USA, he won't win that one, as that was a key point of Trump his political agenda.
How much would Apple products cost if they were made in the US? Would American workers be able to manufacture them, or do they possess the necessary technological skills?
