he still won. That says a lot.
Insert reference here of the Nazis winning the 1933 German election... and so many more examples from history.

And your rant about prices etc. are just an example of how uninformed Americans are about causes and effects.

There is nothing redeemable about Trump, or his election. It's just (yet another) disaster for the USA.

I guess not even the CEO of the biggest company in the world makes enough money to buy dignity.
Just wondering why you feel so sure that you know what Cook feels is critical to his own dignity? I think there is a very good chance that you are making assumptions about him based upon your own stereotypes and that you really have little idea what Tim Cook actually thinks, feels, or considers critical to his dignity. The insinuation that he is having in an undignified manner seems like a serious insult based upon presumptions that are very much not in evidence.

This is kinda a non-story. Doesn’t matter whether you’re far left or far right. It’s just a different flavor of the same business-as-usual ice cream.
Most people are neither. In fact if you start asking people questions which don't have an obvious political affiliation then you will find their preferences are all over the poltical spectrum.

Disclaimer for Tim: the pride wallpapers and Apple Watch bands and all the Apple 'inclusive' stuff means nothing if you're financially supporting politicians who openly are against the lgbt community.
Disclaimer for Tim: the pride wallpapers and Apple Watch bands and all the Apple 'inclusive' stuff means nothing if you're financially supporting politicians AND governments of large countries (like China) who openly are against the lgbt community.

Fixed it for you.

Where people have a choice, they don't buy iPhones (or Samsung phones) in the same numbers that they do in the USA where there is no choice.
Where people are poorer they don't buy iPhones. Apple sales are strongly correlated with high incomes wherever you are in the world.

That would be fine if this wasn't an Apple specific forum.
Yes, but Apple is an American company headquartered at Cupertino, California. Any issues pertaining to Cupertino, California and America is fair game as an Apple topic as they all affect Apple.

I hate that Trump is extorting money for political favors. Such a banana republic :(
I also think that it's troubling that private individuals can make unseemly donations to the inauguration, but wondering if this troubled you at all when corporate donors - and their executives - with business interests with the incoming Biden Administration like Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Verizon, Comcast (which owns NBC News), Boeing; Anthem Health, or labor unions like IBEW donated similar amounts to the Biden Inauguration. Unfortunately Bill Clinton began this unfortunate tradition of soliciting big dollars for his inauguration many years ago and it's funny how it only troubles people now.

Ah the old "I can't be a racist. I have black friends" argument.

For the record, I don't think Trump is a homophobe. He's just a gargantuan narcissist above all else.

Yes, apparently you can have it both ways. Trump hates gay people but assigns them to his cabinet when no other President in history has done so but he still hates gay people. It's circular logic that is just a media talking point.

People in comments acting like a bunch of kids who got no Christmas presents. To anyone with enough brains it was obvious that the President choice is mostly a choice of so-cal “deep state”. America never had direct voting system as in most democracies around the world, its all in primaries and gerrymandering. Yes, people do decide but their decisions are being influenced, amplified or promoted. Back when US “had nothing more to do”, the Clinton-Obama clan were on the hill. Now its the “Elephant” turn.

“It’s economy, stupid!”. Literally:

Are a small tip of the iceberg some people call “deep state”. If their interests (predominantly economic) are being threatened by one or another political party, they make their choice. They control the narrative.

Tim literally “did nothing wrong”, it was obvious from the start Apple will endorse Trump, not openly tho because of all this pre-election hysteria but still
Wait a sec… wasn’t Trump supposed to drain the swamp and take down the “deep state”? So does Trump’s “deep state” exist if he is the “deep state” as you say they chose him?? And is Cook part of it too?

Nothing to see here folks, just good old fashioned American democracy at work. You know, the type that they bombed a some countries in the middle east for.

It only trouble people more now after Citizen United. There is no limit to campaign donations now. Either you donate to the campaign, or like Cook’s case, he is donating after first the inauguration.

Apple tries to Think Different(tm) but you're basically advocating that they run Android on the iPhone.

With Trump in the White House, the USA will become an 80s, 90s USSR oligarchy.

Tim Cook is a smart man, so he is using his personal dollars to buy a seat at Trump’s billionaire table. With the donation he is protecting his company’s interest, but the negative effects don’t blow back on his company. If you’re an AAPL shareholder and had any doubts about Cook’s political navigation skills you can now drop them.

If you're OK with Tim Apple donating money, any money, to such a criminal then that's on you. I think Apple should plan to add a moral compass to a future Apple Watch update.
If you’re not OK with Mr. Cook donating money, any money to Mr. Trump, that’s on you. And along with a moral compass Apple should be giving away a glass house.

“Deep state” is not some sort of unchangeable structure as some people would think it is but rather ultraflexible door mat that will fit anywhere where it doesn’t become dirty too fast

Haha maybe you should go tell the red cap folks on that one.

What are you trying to get at? Apple hasn’t been “Thinking Differently” for ages. That’s an old ad campaign from last century.

How was it determined that "no other President in history has done so" ?

Also... What about the current Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg?

This is nothing more than Bizzare... Trump hates anyone who is Gay or Transgender, for an openly gay man such as Tim Cook to donate to a criminal is BIZZARE what is wrong with america.. i mean really.

Can you point to a video of him, even if remotely, demonstrating what you’re stating (that he hates gays or transgenders)?
