On their defense, it's a bigger battery though and new tech
So why is the price increase limited to Pro models? The Plus has the largest battery and the newest tech.

I’ve never replaced a battery. What’s the real amount of people this affects like 5%?
Hogwash. You can buy official batteries yourself... that gives you a pretty good idea that they cost less than the sale price to produce. 😅 As for labour costs, you can Google that for a good idea too. This isn't rocket science, jz0309.
Edit: The only time I didn't replace a battery myself it was when I was in China, and for $20 I got an official battery installed. I know labour costs little there, but they wouldn't subsidise parts costs to appease the tall foreigner 😅
Apple: Now replace the battery easier and faster!
Also Apple: We're now charging more for less work.

Apple already overcharges for everything. Why wouldn't Apple charge more everything else in the world has gone up not saying I agree with it but people don't work for free.
Mother Earth got fired she did not appear ij the keynote this year due to the FineWoven debacle.Likely more about slowing demand vs. battery replacment options. Each battery replaced is likely one less new iPhone sold. Note: Reuse (replacing your battery) and avoiding a new purchase is THE BEST way to help Mother Earth.
For those commenting: the battery in the iPhone 16 is the one that is said to be easier to replace. The battery in the Pro models is quite different (and inside a metal thermal dissipation casing) so may not be as easy to replace.
Incorrect, the Plus battery was reduced in capacity this year.So why is the price increase limited to Pro models? The Plus has the largest battery and the newest tech.

Yes, my salary also increased 20% this year so this is totally fine. Why wouldn't Apple charge more everything else in the world has gone up not saying I agree with it but people don't work for free.
I was gonna say, the real shocker for me is that even the iPhone 13 is $89 now. I thought it was still like $50. 🤷♀️I'm not normally one to complain, but the iPhone 16 Pro line battery replacement represents a nearly 90 percent jump in cost from pre-iPhone 14, when battery replacement cost $69 (and still does on the SE and obsolete models). That was waaay back in ... 2022!

At $99 they were already making a great profit!
It doesn’t mean we’re just going to roll over and take it, 🤷♂️Why wouldn't Apple charge more everything else in the world has gone up not saying I agree with it but people don't work for free.
Math. They will sell you a new battery for a 15PM for $51 if you send in the old battery. At $99 + the old battery, Apple is already doing well here.Source?
They’ve already significantly raised the price not long ago.Why wouldn't Apple charge more everything else in the world has gone up not saying I agree with it but people don't work for free.
Apple: hold my beer. Just wait until iPhone 17 series are out.I mean everything costs more now. At least we didn't get a 20% increase in the cost of the phone like we did on groceries.
On top of that, those raises prices won’t be passed down to workers actually doing the work or suppliers supplying those batteries. They’ve already significantly raised the price not long ago.
