Patience is a virtue I need to exercise. My order says it’ll deliver on the 22nd. I need to mellow out and stop refreshing my Apple Store app to see if my status moves to shipped. Even though no tracking number is available yet I’m sure it’ll get here. Lol

Ordered a 8 Plus Silver 64gig on Verizon website today 9/18. Delivery date 9/29.

Didn't think the X was worth 1K.

Current device 7 Plus Black 128gig.
Me neither. Maybe next year or whenever they iron out some kinks. Im tired of hearing all these “Apple” podcasters dismiss the 8/8+ as old, boring, secondhand bridesmaids. All they do is say yeah they’re ok but looks the same then talk about getting a 256gb X and how it’s so advanced to vet the 8 plus etc. brother. The 8 plus has all the X has. Same processors, ios11, imo still a very good screen and form factor. It lacks ois on the telefoto lens but the main lens is 1.8f ois on the 8 plus just like the X. I’d much rather use that anyway over the 2.4f ois zoom. You can always crop. The primary lens on the 8 plus is fantastic.

So you think that UPS just got it mixed up at it already is out of China? Sounds like I’m impatiently waiting....which I am ....but it’s also fun to track lol. Like everyone else, im sure pretty much all of us that have 9-22 delivery dates will get our shiny new phones on Friday. (4 days, but who’s counting)
I mean, I'm speculating...but it seams reasonable, lol.
[doublepost=1505788507][/doublepost]Looks like a lot of shipments heading toward Louisville currently/tonight. Imagine a lot of people will start seeing more updates as they wake up tomorrow. Most shipments directly from China will start being broken down and moved to local distribution centers. The units already stateside may take another day to see much movement.

And in case you aren't familiar with the Louisville world hub for UPS.

I played around with UPS's shipping time calculator and as long as iPhones leave China by Wednesday they will get to California by Friday. I'm assuming it wouldn't be that different for the other parts of the country.

I'm debating on if I should keep my 8+ order and not my 8 I'm buying the X and some other phones so I'm puzzled

Ordered 8+, Space Gray 256. Now I am wondering two things:

1. Should I get the silver, despite the white bezels?
2. Do I really need 256, since I am only currently using 30GB, and don't anticipate making tons of videos. 64 seems more logical.

Maybe silver will look like white because of the glass covering. I think silver will look really good this year. Space grey is a meh color for me now after using jet black. 64GB would be enough just keep backing up with iTunes
Curious, somewhat related to thread, when we get it in the mail is it easy to activate and swap out?I’m on TMobile and not changing anything other than phones.

Nowadays even carrier phones are unlocked, i bought verizon s8+ and inserted att sim and it worked but the data speed was H+ everything else was perfect. Which iphone version have you bought? Do you know what's the package weight from UPS ref tracking is it 2 pounds? And are they coming from China or Harrispaga PA?

I bought the silver 8+ for TMobile

Yes you will be completely fine with Tmo service and T-Mo phone, any idea about the iphone package weight?
My tracking # hasn’t shown up yet so I don’t know about the weight. So do I just switch out the sim from my current 7 plus and put it into my 8 Plus?

I watch the hands-on videos on YouTube for 8 and it looks gorgeous because of all glass body. Silver must be amazing with some shade of white because of glass.

Me too. It looks like a soft white. Very attractive. I’m so tired of all the black electronics I’ve had for years. I want some bright and light. I plan on getting a new cobalt blue silicone Apple case for it, maybe a product red too.

Yeah just switch sims thats it and if some issue occurs restart iphone. I never had any issue with sim swapping with even att and tmo iphone or att or sim-free iphone, i never had to call for activating or anything. Okay no tracking, it's okay should come on time, 8's availability is not a issue at this moment. Probably when ppl get tired of waiting or buyer's remoarse for X then i guess it will also become short. Read somewhere X cost $600 to apple that's why its $1000, making $400 on 64GB.

I wish I had a tracking number so if it's with UPS I can hold for pickup up

Go to UPS's website and search by reference number. T-Mobile typically makes your 10 digit phone number (or the 10 digit phone number of the primary account holder) the reference number for the shipment. You should be able to get the tracking number that way.

EDIT: Not sure if other carriers do this as well, but it's been my experience with T-Mobile.

I’ve tried dozens of times. Nothing yet. :(

I have several times. I have Verizon. I picked "package". Then for reference number my 10 digit Verizon number, chose shipping dates from 09/15-09/22 and got nothing.

Some are us with "next day" air aren't getting tracking numbers yet

Ho are you able to choose the date of 9/22/17? When I select the calendar for shipping dates everything after today is darkened out so I can't select it on UPS site.

AT&T does it as well. Once the info shows up in UPS, you can see that they will often have at least a couple of different reference numbers shown (phone number, order number, etc), so all should work to access it.

Now if I could just see my damned order myself! I don't remember it taking this long to be able to track by reference in the past. I'm not worried or anything; just feeling sad and left out of the tracking fun. Lol.

99.9% is correct! I was one of the people who preordered the 7+ last year with a launch day delivery date, only to be derailed by the typhoon. My phone ended up coming one day later. So if everything goes smoothly and Mother Nature cooperates, anyone with a 9/22 delivery date should get their phone on time.

It was quite interesting watching my phone make the rounds in China and Taiwan trying to evade the typhoon.
Ah yes, that was fun! For me, it got even more interesting when it finally got stateside because UPS delivered it to Orlando (where I am) from Louisville and then sent it BACK to Louisville before shooting it back over to Orlando. So i got mine on Monday. I was somewhat less than pleased. They even admitted to me at one point that they had no idea where my phone actually WAS.
