We're both on the same boat! Maybe our phones will be on the same plane! Hoping we get our phones Friday!! I'm hoping my status will change soon!!
Both Apple TV 4K and iPhone 8 Plus are set to be picked up at my local UPS facility Friday morning. ATV is coming from China and the iPhone is in Harrisburg, PA. Only 3 days to go!!
Still nothing on UPS for me. Ordered at 12:02. Schedule to arrive on Sept 22 by next day shipping, but nothing is showing on UPS. Credit card has the pending charge, but not an actual charge yet. I hope nothing is wrong. 
Every year people worry about their tracking not showing up as we near launch, but it is unnecessary. Almost no one misses the launch date, if their order indicates the phone will be received on launch day. Apple has some phones stateside and they may not have tracking until Wednesday or Thursday, but they will still arrive on time. Apple has this down to a science. I have preordered every year from Apple and have never been disappointed once. Last year, I didn't get tracking until mid day Wednesday, but my phone arrived as promised.Still nothing on UPS for me. I’ve still not seen a second package appear in UPS or Fedex and only have one package coming via UPS from China. The UPS weight is 0.6 kilograms which converts to 1.32 pounds.
I’m wondering if both phones might be packaged together as that’s an awful lot of weight for one iPhone 8.
My package is still in “Order Processed: Ready for UPS” status since 9/17 in Shanghai.
Anyone only ordering one phone that can compare their package’s weight to mine for confirmation?

mine weighs the same, but I'm in hong kong as of this morning. no departure yet.
I'm in the same boat (pun not intended). Arrival Scan at Hong Kong today.
Unfortunately, not everyone. If your iPhone is being picked up at the store, it most likely will not show up. I have yet to see one person in the iPhone Upgrade Program post success using this method.
Please prove me wrong!
Phone number works as a reference number on Fed Ex as well. Right now, all it pulls up for me is the 2 Warch bands I ordered the day of the keynote (which have delivered).
My iPhone 8 via UPS finally updated about 45 minutes ago with “export scan” from Shanghai. I’ll have to check the next UPS flight to see if it’ll make that one or not. No departure scan yet.
I also forgot to mention earlier that as of yesterday both of my pending charges on my credit card from 9/15 have dropped off entirely.
I haven't seen anyone get the tracking details early from a pick up order.
Ya I have store pickup for the 22nd and order is still in progress. Only a pending charge for a dollar on my cc.
Because if it's an in store pick up you don't get tracking details. Once the Apple Store receives the shipment then those who have in store pick up get noticed that it is ready for pick up.
Exactly! You won’t get tracking details because you’re not being shipped the phone, it’s going to the Apple store. They’ll let you know when it’s ready for you to pickup.
In the faq it says you'll get a notification about it being shipped to store and when ready for pickup, you will get another notification about that. If they do that I have no clue.
