Luckyyy!!! I hope mine goes from "order in progress" to delivered because this wait and watching it inch over from China to here is killing me on the inside hahahaha

Do you have an Apple Store near you? Loads of new stock arrived today around the country. Reserve one for in-store pickup and then cancel your pre order. That's what I was about to do this am until I saw my shipped notice. Hate to have to wait til next Wed when I could grab one today.. but....

Good idea but unfortunately I'm commuting to work now and far from the stores that have them.... but how can you reserve the phone without being charged twice? I think my case is different bc I signed up for the Apple upgrade program AND ordered the X at the same time......

Anyway, I hope mine ships soon...

You're never charged until a phone actually ships. As long as you're still in "order in progress" mode you can cancel at any time. Then order new phone for pickup. Or even do it simultaneously.

Stock all over Florida too. My second order hasn’t moved past OIP and fails to cancel. That order was placed 10 minutes after pre-order. First order shipped but stuck in China so I can’t cancel either.

OIP should cancel.. but I wouldn't put it past Apple to try and limit cancellations of orders in progress now that they know they're shipping a lot of stock to their stores. I think they really want walk-in clients to have the ability to pick up phones. So I feel pretty confident that any problems with canceling OIP is Apple forcing that situation, trying to protect in store stock.

Doesn't apple know about the scalpers though?

I had no issues canceling my IUP online and reserving a phone in store. It took about 7 minutes for citizen / apple to cancel my order, so bare that in mind. On the morning of the 5th, I got up around 450am and was refreshing every 10 mins till 6am and was able to reserve a phone at the 5th ave store.

What if my phone is shipped, but stuck in Korea. What are the logistics of returning a phone on the IUP after it arrives?

I was hoping it meant it was about to move to PTS but that was a day ago and still no pending charge or change in status.

Return as normal but might get hit with a restocking fee. To ensure there is no fee you have to refuse the shipment. It will go back to Apple and everything will cancel out. You won’t be able to order a new phone on IUP during that period though.

This sitting in China business is ridiculous. Can’t believe Apple tolerates it. I used to be able to get an Apple order overnight from China.

Sorry if this has been discussed previously. Has anyone been informed that their order is delayed? How long was the delay for you? I was in the 17-24th group and now have a delivery for 11/20. My credit card was charged this morning.

Just got an email from UPS stating my iPhone X will be out for delivery tomorrow (11/10), but when I check tracking, it's still stuck in Incheon, KR. It's been there since 11/07.

I have the same situation. Same date and text from UPS. UPS is now saying it will be delivered next Tuesday instead.

I still don’t have a updated delivery date but Apple still shows 11/17-11/24/17 my original date.

ugh, good point. i was charged just for the tax on the phone but this is the 4th day that the charge is 'pending.' im hopeful (probably to my detriment) that it will ship soon...... but i might try this tomrrow morning if nothing changes... i'll cancel my order that i placed at 3:17am and cross my fingers and secure 1 locally...

My phone has been in Incheon since 11/7 as well. Original deliver date was 11/10, but has changed within the last 12 hours to 11/14.

The irony in this is I have 2 co-workers who didn't preorder yet walked down to the local Apple store and picked one up over the past few days. Looking at stock at Apple stores, virtually every store within a 50 mile radius of me (Philadelphia area) has availability for black/silver 64/256.

Oh well.

17th-24th, still no change in dates or status, card not charged. Apple, TAKE MY MONEY! :)

same. story. here.

edit - congrats on the progress! i am calling apple shortly to ask why i shouldn't cancel my order with them while everyone around me already has their phones. apple took their orderupdate@apple.com email out of service so now you have to call them - which i dont mind. i just hope i'm not on the phone for 45 minutes................

wish me luck.

Yeah... Keep in mind that stock can run out VERY quickly in the mornings.. Scalpers and Flippers from Craig's List and eBay sellers are grabbing them up each morning.. and reselling. So set your alarm for 6am. For several days I've been watching iStockNow.com and this was the first day in 3 that stock became available in the Philly area early am. So you could be waiting a few more days in limbo mode. But I think it's a safe bet you'll eventually get one before your original pre-order at this point.

thanks for the advice. and yeah, i've looked at CL and there are tons of x's for sale there. crazy. and it's silly that some are only asking $100 over the actual price of the phone..... i was expecting people to be charging a ton more - which i saw but this was a few days ago when supplies were even more constrained.....

Update: It looks like many Apple Stores have iPhone X available for in-store pick up this morning [Check iStock].

At 7:00a the iPhone X SG 256GB Verizon was available at the Saddle Creek Apple Store (Memphis), so I quickly canceled my online order (required to un-reserve your phone number) and purchased it for in-store pick up today. I'm getting it after work.

Good luck, everyone!
