Does ups deliver on saturdays? Mine is in route for delivery. But I have to go to work in the next hour.
Routinely, no. But some peeps here have said they received theirs on Saturdays after previous launch days. So apparently exceptions are made for a shipper as large as Apple?

my first time doing it, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again next year given how smoothly it went... I'd do in store pickup but I like that you can send in your old phone on iUP at your leisure (don't even have the "kit" yet!)

Very much agreed.

It’s a nice little feature of the delivery via IUP - the 14 day grace period.

If I love the 8+, I’ll ship my 7 back - or vice versa.

Don’t have that option if you pick up at Apple.

You can print out the "signature release" form and stick it to your door/gate and ups will leave it inside if you choose. That's what I did since I'm stuck at work. And ups just delivered my new shiny phone

Sad... You'd think since this would save them $ they'd encourage it. Seems like messing with it at all usually makes it worse from what I'm seeing above. :/ Thanks for the info. I'm not going to touch mine (coming 9/26).

That was my problem. I got impatient and made a poor decision. By trying to get it earlier I’m now getting it later. Assuming it is not completely lost. It’s been around 15 hrs since its last scan, and I’ve heard nothing.

I have a slim hope that it just was moving so quick it missed scans and made it onto a delivery truck. But I doubt it. Likely won’t see it until monday or tuesday. I don’t mind delays, if there is a reason. But even when changing to pickup it still said it’d be here today.

Mine arrived, along with both of my cases. Logged in to all of my apps, music and pictures still downloading. This thing is screaming fast compared to my 6 Plus (which had been having speed issues the last few months). Going to run over and have a glass screen protector put on tonight. Going on a hike tomorrow, looking forward to really trying out the camera.

It has arrived and it is beautiful!

It REALLY is so much faster than the IP6+ I expected that but not this fast!

You still have this? I just let go of my first gen IPhone on eBay this week. I was amazed you could still use Google Maps and Weather. I had to plug in to iTunes to wipe it. Dang that was painful!
I still have mine, too (well, the silver version.) I think I must’ve gotten it before the pink one came out and then was super-pissed that I hadn’t waited. Lol.

You got it early in the day and you didn’t even have to call Apple and complain about not having shipping info...

Edit: I’m an ******* and having a crappy day completely unrelated to release day. My apologies.

Yeah, that and all of my older models going back to 1996! My first one was from 1994 which simply said "ATT" (no idea who made it) and it weighed a good 7, 8lbs..it was like carrying a darn brick lol! I found them in a box over a year old up in my attic.

Ouch, the original iPhone, that had to be tough. Mine works, it just has basically no battery life...maybe 10 minutes max. I still can get email from it, and yep..those original Maps with Google, weather also still work. I can't bring myself to get rid of it.

Well, the $300 I got for it "motivated" me to let it go! Cool pic! Great to see all of the old phones! Thanks!

Here is a status update and questions:
I ordered my iPhone 8 Plus (256gb) Sept 19th and picked the Apple Upgrade Program (first time).
Originally I had a date of Sept 26th but now my order has updated to shipped and FedEX (Ground) tracking is showing delivery for tomorrow . The question is, I show two tracking numbers via FedEX website? I only see one listed not he Apple website.

One is probably your return box for exchange.

Apparently this was not meant to be. I've had the digitizer become totally non-responsive twice. Apple refused to replace it because they were able to "bring it back" with a hard reset... which BTW is now a new process... no longer do you "chord" the keys... pressing them in rapid order: Press UP volume, DOWN volume and then press/hold POWER.

So I returned it for a refund. Gonna sit this one out... and maybe the next couple of releases, too. $950 for a 256GB iPhone 8+ that locks up all the time? No thanks.

. Got it by reservation at the Apple Store in Nashua, NH. Line was pretty short - was out of the store by 8:15. They had no phones available without qa reservation. They were turning away all other customers.

.

What's that reservation thing? Do you need to pay full for the phone online a priori or is it just a reservation? I'm scared that'll happen with the x.

Wow that sucks ..... When you say digitizer - the touch screen becomes non-responsive?

Absolutely dead. Volume up/down, power and home buttoms all worked perfectly... but the screen was totally dead... no response, no wiggle mode, no scrolling to 2nd page of apps... and, a first and senior level Apple rep didn't know about the new reboot process... just not worth the hassle... my 7+ still works great, even with iOS 11... so, I am standing pat.

And to take this back "on topic", the Apple store was pretty empty for iPhone release day... maybe 30-40 people in the store and NO lines to be seen.

Uh. I just checked my past deliveries in UPS My Choice. The last time UPS delivered a package to me it didn't come til 8:25pm!!! I hope they are earlier today. My cases are here. My charger is here. I just need the phone. This is the first time in 3 years I decided to have it delivered instead of going to the UPS Hub. The hub is in a bad part of town and the anxiety it causes me to go over there trumped my impatience this year. It says it's out for delivery, so I know it's coming. I am just SO ready!

My "customer center" is in a poor part of town...but then I live in that part of town. It doesn't even have proper offices. It is in a small grouping of rundown warehouses. You literally walk into the warehouse where all the packages are just lying around for sorting and ask someone to find your package for you.

There is a bay door behind the trailers you just wander in.
