I believe that breaking up pallets is how UPS World Ease works, which is the product Apple is using to ship these. Everything is individually addressed in China, but then it's bundled up for shipment and customs. Once it hits Louisville, they're broken up and resorted for their destination.

I was replying to the post about the assumption there might already be some stock in the US, like for the press. In that case they would have to address those here. It would be cheaper to just send those on to the stores and not ship them again.

keep it going, pilot, and don’t fly over N. Korea on accident.
margaritas all around please, and tacos, cause it’s Tuesday. Haha
Everyone know what Tim Cook did for a while before assuming the CEO? He was in charge of logistics. that guy knows about delivery.

Assuming we remain on CA1007, here's the rest of the itinerary:

Arrive ANC 10/19 9:20 PM AKDT
Depart ANC 10/20 1:00 AM AKDT
Arrive SDF 10/20 12:30 PM EDT
Makes a lot of sense. The amount of phones that need to be divided up and shipped around the states is gonna be a massive undertaking in itself off those pallets. Gets to KY early enough to give them enough time.

To be clear, there will be other planes with iPhones. CAO1007 isn’t the only one.

UPS may use their planes or other charters. One plane isn’t carrying all the US iPhones

So if we assume that they won’t deliver until 3 days after arrival in the states... will they sit in Louisville, or continue to a local facility before being held?

Got it. I couldn't find the context because this thread is too crazy :D

Agree; it's just carrying ones that match the departure scan time of 5:50 am. Not all iPhones are coming from Zhengzhou either (there's a lot of cargo activity coming from Chengdu as well).

They can handle it. They deal with hundreds of flights a day.
