I've read repeatedly that the Pro versions of the iPhone 12 might ship later in November, even December, but I honestly don't remember ever reading why. I feel like a lot is known about these upcoming iPhones and I don't see anything leaked about the Pro versions that would explain this delay. In fact, I see the gap between the normal and Pro versions narrower than in the iPhone 11.
Do any of you know more on what could be behind this delay?

November is a possibility (iPhone X started shipping from Nov 3 for example). December? Highly unlikely IMO.

i agree. Early November Would be more ideal. December is too far.
If the September event is anything to go by, they should announce it within the next hour..
And this could help restore at least some consistency for Apple

I was already right by saying Apple was lying when they said "a few weeks late". The low end models won't be released until late Oct at earliest and the Pro models won't be out until mid Nov at earliest. Thats not "a few weeks" late, that's MONTHS late.

It will be interesting to see when iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max pre-orders will start. I think they will launch November 6th or 13th.

Congratulations on finally coming around and changing your previous November prediction on the regular models to mid to late October, which is one everyone has been saying forever now. Likely not. My guess like last year and the previous and the one before that, pre-orders will start on Friday and has always been like this for the iPhones. For the watches they do right after but not for the iPhones.
