Nobody is getting a phone before Friday, unless you’re a tech reviewer. Apple works very closely with UPS and FedEx to ensure that’s the case.

Part of me hopes that people do get their phones tomorrow, because that gives me hope that I might get mine well before Nov 3. My wife gets hers on friday and i'm kinda salty about that. 😂

Usually the actual dates is earlier than the window they give.

We don’t know if that’s the case this year. Because of all the shipping volume lately they may not be requiring the hold. Stop basing this year on previous years things are different.

Mine hasn‘t shown a date since I requested the hold. Still shows 10/21 on my choice though.

I'm pretty sure most of us even with 10/21 will get it on Friday. UPS will hold it until then. I don't think Apple cares much about COVID as having uniform launch schedule is much more important. Of course a few will slip through the cracks. With Samsung launch like the Note 20 Ultra, I got it early by 2 days because their shipping says "delivers BY Friday" versus Apple is "delivers Friday"
