So UPS fixed an error. I had someone else's tracking info on my account. So the Seattle package didn't even belong to me.
So after getting that all sorted out and getting them to remove it from my account and add the correct my tracking is still showing for 10/21 between 830am-1030am. I am sure within the next hour or so it will change since everyone else is getting changed as well.
I found an unusual way to take my mind off compulsively checking phone delivery updates.
A wildfire! Very near my house in heavy redwood timber. Yikes! My first inkling that something was wrong was hearing a helicopter barely clear my house on the way to the pond across the street to pick up water. Never a good sign.
Then I heard fire retardant planes circling overhead. I got PulsePoint and Nixle alerts as I began madly packing up essentials if I had to bug out. I was evacuated from the CZU fire not that long ago, so my emergency packing skills are up to date unfortunately.
They managed to contain the fire in about an hour along with fire crews from all the neighboring mountain towns. 3 ground crews will stay overnight to put out any hot spots.
Huge props to the all the emergency personnel! They respond so quickly and are excellent. They contained this to under an acre. Doesn't sound like much, but every big fire starts out small if it isn't contained right away. This one was spreading quickly.
I never even thought about where my 12 Pro was for about 2 hours. Not that I recommend this way of getting through the wait. 🤣 I think I need a real world Margarita tonight and not a virtual one like during the party last night.

Still in 2020, those scans should be able to keep updated with the packages movement as its obviously moving and getting scanned...there shouldn't be a delay for us to see it to the tune of multiple days going by with nothing.
It’s like a low-stakes version of werewolf/mafia. The townspeople are dropping like flies, but nobody’s noticing that I still have a 10/23 ticket.
In which way? I bought a cheap clear case on Amazon just to get me by until the apple leather cases for the 12 Pro are released. I placed my 11 pro in the case and it really only seems a smidge taller and barely wider at all
I am glad you are all okay and they managed to contain that, its so crazy that our lives could be flipped upside down in a moments notice. Stay safe and maybe grab that magherita to go

Ha! Mine flipped from 10/21 to 10/23 tonight, but I’m also coordinating a few of us for the football game on Sunday so I had 10/25 stuck in my head and somehow got my internal calendar off by two days. I’m going to bed now.

If you need to kill 45 minutes learning about how UPS gets us our phones on time (but apparently not early)
OMG not again!! Seriously we are in for red flag warnings for awhile. I'll be glad to ferry Margarita provisions up to you should the need arise.
My iphone is “prepared to ship” and been that for the last 2 days? ( shipping to Louisiana) is this normal?

It is perfectly normal. What it likely means is that it's in the process of moving from China to the US. Once the large batches are separated in the US, it'll go to shipped and Apple will have the tracking number. That could happen any time including Thursday night.

I would not be surprised if we didn’t see import scans until late tomorrow night or early Thursday.
Ok thanks i was just nervous because everyone here seem to be having movements earlier and mines just “preparing for shipping “

So based on what I’m reading about 5G killing battery I think it’s safe to say I’m keeping my phone in 4G LTE almost exclusively. I still don’t see the real need for 5G on a phone, and with the Qualcomm chipset battery should be better restricted to only LTE.
I work for Boeing. I know what it takes to get one of these in the air.
Do you think it's better to not let my 11 pro update to 14.1 if I want to restore the backup on the 12 Pro?
I ran into an issue with my S6 Watch where I couldn't restore from my S5 backup since I had updated my S5 the night before and the S6 shipped with the older firmware. Had to set up the S6 as a new watch, update the firmware, then restore it from my S5 backup.
