I believe it will work better than most, as usual Apple has not simply added 5G to the device but designed and optimized both the hardware and iOS (apps all the way down to system level frameworks) to take advantage of it while maintaining efficiency.
I know the average consumer like the people I know, They seen the announcement and assumed their iPhone had 5g already, because of AT&T BS 5g lol.
I’m going to keep mine on. I don’t think Joliet has 5G just get. Downtown Chicago does tho.

So, Would it be wise to leave 5g on all the time if given the option too? I know Apple wouldn't do this if didn't make it work well. I just wouldn't want my phone to be showing or on 4G most of time.
No no it says 5Ge which has nothing to do with the iPhone. That’s AT&T marketing crap they pushed.
I would leave it on the default 5G Auto cellular mode, let the phone choose when 5G is needed and when it would not be needed. Not to mention most cities do not have 5G coverage widespread, you will still see LTE on your device depending on where you are. Anyone that gets these phones and tries to simply maintain the 5G On constantly will incur that lesser battery life mentioned in reviews.

While I agree on their marketing certainly is reaching, I see how they are spinning it. LTE-A is largely going to be the foundational aspect to all carriers 5G networks nationwide, the "e" notation going into the future fits perfectly as it reprents that "extended" network which historically we all know is going to be slower then our main 5G networks but it is their for widespread coverage nationwide not necessarily to be the fastest data connection available.
I know that. The carrier controls that display, not the phone. What it displays has nothing to do with what the phone is actually using. That's my point, sorry if it wasn't clear.

Exactly! The reviewers were testing the speed constantly which would obviously cause faster battery drain. I don’t think the day to day user will have much of a problem.
