For those that are still waiting to leave China, Air China Cargo flight 1007 is making another CGO-ANC-SDF trip later tonight (10/22 AM in China).

UPS could be waiting for this arrival before they start breaking down pallets. If that’s the case, expect no activity until Thursday morning for those that have already arrived in Louisville.

all times listed below are local to China (UTC+8).

Pretty sure yours and mine are already in KY. UPS tracking system for customers have been acting weird for the last few months. UPS has an internal tracking system which is the one that shows all the scams and packages progress. For example, today I have a package coming from REP Fitness in Denver, Colorado which got Origin Scam on Monday Oct 19th then nothing showed up on UPS tracking system until this morning when reached final destination and it's now Out For Delivery. Same thing is happening with our iPhones.

Wow that’s interesting. Yeah, my last scan was yesterday in China.

Checked My UPS Choice this morning and it still shows in arrived at facility at 11:27 on 10/18 at ZZ, but I have a scheduled delivery date of 10/23/20 with delivery time of 10:30 am-2:30 pm

My phone left Anchorage a few days ago but Apple.com still shows my iPhone 12 as "Preparing to ship". I wonder if it will show "shipped" once it gets the arrival scan in Louisville?

Quick side note: anybody else buy an unlocked phone and plan on putting their AT&T SIM card in it? I know it’ll work, they’re the same size, and I know I’ll be able to use the phone as normal. But what I don’t know is if I’m missing out on any features because I have a 3 year old SIM card from my iPhone 8 that I’ll be using. I don’t think I will, but anybody who has done this for AT&T before and can shed some light I’d greatly appreciate it!

Woke up and I’m still in China, so no phone today and zero surprise. Always knew they weren’t making it today. But the bigger concern is I paid for a delivery window and that is gone as well. Rep from UPS told me that they can’t set them and now I have to wait and see if the option appears again. If it doesn’t only option is talk to billing and try and get a refund.

Last night, I was able to pay for a 2Hour Delivery Window for Friday Delivery. This morning I see there is no longer an option for that on Friday and it says delivery “by end of day”. 😕 the $8 charge shows as pending on my card. <insert lost-the-gameshow sound byte>

I love how the iPhone feels without a case (I have a XS Max currently) but always get this nervous fear when I try to keep it naked. It’s probably a programmed fear. You may have given me the courage to go for it with my 12 Pro!

Believe me I had the same fear. I use to buy Spigen Crystal Armour cover with drop defence. But then I saw someone using without cover and the whole look & feel was so different that the top quality of Apple is always seen without cover. We all use MacBooks, iPad, Apple Watch etc without covers, at least most of them.

You just have to be careful while using and it becomes a habit. I don't get scared of dropping because I know it will drop from my pocket so I either place it on flat surface like coffee tables, sofa etc and while walking I prefer using my pocket placed behind the trouser/jeans etc where we keep our wallets. That's all it is. I throw my iPhone on bed lol

EDIT: My wife's iPhone X has been completely broken. I don't suggest to those who are clumsy lol

UPS MyChoice calendar still has it listed for today. Click on it and says scheduled delivery Friday. Last update leaving AK 3 days ago. UPS is clueless. Even sent out the usual email notifying of delivery today.

While official guidance for ATT does not require a new sim card to receive their 5G service I still recommend you either use the new one that will come inside the new device and or have Apple or ATT replace your existing one due to its age. A new SIM card is going to ensure your new phone provisions optimally with the network and receives the optimal and expected voice and data performance.

Still preparing to ship - I feel really left out this year!
Nah, I think everyone is in the same boat with this; I think all of us that have had their phones shipped to the US already, are still showing "still preparing to ship" in the Apple app. Like @sfwalter said, it's in UPS's hands right now. I think once it gets its "arrival scan" or "destination scan" will it change in the Apple app.

This happens every year. They move it to shipping/send the shipped email early Thursday morning. It may coincide when your phone gets to KY, not sure.

Thanks. I purchased an unlocked phone from Apple so there won’t be a new SIM card in it. Not a problem though I can just swing by my local AT&T once I get my new iPhone setup

Your local Apple Store (if you have one) also has the SIM cards available as well. :)

Would much rather go to an Apple store lol! Unfortunately the closest one is 45 minutes away and my local AT&T is down the street hang a left. But good to know about apple stores! Learned something new today and it’s not even lunch time!

If it truly left AK Monday night, then it’s been sitting on the ground in KY for 2 days waiting to be officially imported (and scanned). The delay is due to the scheduled release date. And UPS‘s automated tracking information still has these listed for delivery today because it doesn’t cope well with these uncommon “delayed” shipments. By all accounts a package like this should be delivered today, if not for the artificial delay. Probably won’t see updates for another day or so when these get moving to their final destinations.

I'm thinking we'll see updates/movement Thursday morning (closer to noon) when (possibly) our peers that are still in China join us via the Air China Cargo flight scheduled to leave CGO in about 8 hours from now (scheduled to arrive SDF at 9:20 am EDT on 10/22).

I’m going to have to go the same route but with Verizon. I may sit it out for a while and not get the new SIM card until 5G is in my area.
