My baby is on his way home to daddy. Him landing in 33mins.

You may absolutely be right about your phone being on that plane, but in past iPhone launches UPS has shipped from Louisville to Chicago overnight via truck. Maybe they are doing some both ways, or just doing it differently this year.

Apple also sends iPhones directly to O'Hare from China, separate from the UPS worldwide hub, for channel deliveries to stores, etc.

In NYC you have to schedule an appointment with a specialist if you want to go inside the store. When I picked up my Apple Watch, an Apple employee brought the watch to me outside. It's totally different these days...

Same here. I wonder what it'll be like tomorrow when I pickup my iPhone 12 Pro. Apple told me I'll be able to go inside to get my new iPhone set up before I return my iPhone 11 Pro to Apple. I hope so!!
I had to pick something up at the BK store today. I asked how tomorrow will work. They told me for some carriers and trade in programs, they'll have you go in the store. For the other situations (you got SIM free, not a carrier that needs activation on site or they don't take trade ins for), they'll bring it to you outside.

Hey y’all honestly I’m a little nervous for when it’s my ship time (which I pray starts tomorrow and gets moving by Monday) I have no idea how you guys are getting all the scans. This whole thread has my mind blown! 🤯
Im in chatsworth wonder if I’m in same airplane as you guys

Anyone else ever wonder why there are two “arrival” scans when it gets to the main hub in your city? Mine arrive at 4:46 pm, departed at 4:51 pm, and got another arrival scan at 6 pm, all in the same city.

In Minneapolis IIRC they have a place to scan at the airport and then the place downtown where they are placed on trucks to the centers for final delivery

Most likely its the difference between the airport facility and the actual station where they send trucks from. In Chicago for example, it'll get to O'Hare but then for deliveries actually in the city, truck into the depot where the UPS delivery trucks leave from.

Ohhh that’s good to know. Never thought about that.

For those with a 12:24am AK departure scan, do you happen to live in the general area of the UPS hub in Louisville to where the rest of the travel would probably be via ground later tonight into other states? Or do you all expect more flights? Just wondering if they’re waiting ‘til later to deal with ones that are closer and traveling by ground vs. all these that are flying out.

Mine is still in transit after leaving Louisville at 1:50 pm. It’s about a 9 hour drive from Louisville to Richmond VA so it’s defiantly on a truck.

Has anyone here going to Apple Store to pick up their phone tomorrow? what is your order status? I am anxious!
I have 2 pickups - one at 9am and one at 10:15am. Interestingly the 10:15 changed to "ready for pickup" in the last hour or so but the 9am is still "Order in Progress". The 10:15 is Verizon and the 9am is Sim Free.

FWIW: I asked at the store today and they said I should be able to get both at the same time and not need to come back for the second appointment.

I’m in Wilmington NC. I’m just trusting it will make it. Hoping it’s just delayed scans.

I am about 6 hours away so it’s usually ground.

Good to know about getting them both at the same time. I’m in the same boat though. 8am not ready yet. Noon ready.
