Yes, if you initiate a return on Day 13, you have an additional 14 days to get the device into Fedex hands. After Apple received it, they’ll credit the original form of payment.

I say Day 13 because I don’t wait until the final day.

When I click Start a Return on my order, Apple says that I have UNTIL November 6th to start a return which means that I have THROUGH 11/5 to start it. If I tried on 11/6, it would be too late (although if I called Apple, they’d probably allow it: it’s happened to me before). Once the return is initiated on 11/5, Apple will show that I have another 14 days to drop it off at fedex (I‘ve dropped it off at Day 13 with no issues).

I have walked into the Apple Store to return a product that shows a return date of that very day on the receipt, and they have to get manager approval. The reps told me that the date on the receipt means that it’s returnable until that date (meaning I have through the day before). Still, the manager approved the return.
I have initiated a return process on Day 14 with no issues. But this time around it's better to do it on Day 13 because the order status will be bogged down on Pre-order day for the mini and the pro max so I won't take any chances.

Just a reminder that a large number of people that got their phones on launch day originally showed on UPS the 21st. They all changed to the 23rd. It will be the 30th. Although perhaps that was only because of launch day. Hope they get them early.

aw man, you're bumming me out. I suppose I should prepare for myself for the worst. It makes sense folks wouldn't get their phones on the 21st since that's 2 days before the release date. Now that the phones have officially been released it doesn't seem crazy if UPS makes the delivery a day or two early. 😏

I just really need mine by the 29th.

Ya trade sucked this year. Glad I sold my 11 pro max for $760 on eBay. Last year I did trade in and got $700 for my XS Max.

Unfortunately I wrecked my 11 pro Max’s batter this year and it’s sitting at 90%, I’m def not getting 700 for this thing maybe. I’ll see, I half way don’t want to upgrade. Struggling to pick a color.

Yes sir! I am in the same boat, I will be swapping it out for the bigger one, don’t be ashamed, I also thought this size was gonna be perfect, then I realize I miss the battery life and the screen real estate , the decision is up to you ultimately.
The opposite. I wonder if I went too big and should’ve gotten the mini LOL

I'm not so sure these two situations are equivalent. Obviously UPS won't deliver before launch day, but 28th or 30th both occur after the launch day. I would expect the 29th as worse case scenario. So I think your optimism is reasonable.

I agree. I think we will get them as fast as possible within the parameters of all the moving parts. No reason to hold them-quite the opposite. They need to move ours out of the system to make room for the next wave of orders.

Do you have AppleCare+? I contacted Apple about the battery health on my XS dropping fast. It went from 95% to 92% in one month. I got my battery replaced no charge with AppleCare+.

I’ve already gone back to my 11 Pro Max lol. I gave the 12 Pro to my daughter since she thinks it’s the perfect size. I wanted to go smaller, but I missed two-column apps, the battery life (dropped from 96% to 50% recording an HD 30fps video), and the extra screen real estate.

I’ll be preordering the Pro Max as planned on the 6th. Trying to decide if I want the gold one again.
All of your daughter's friends will be so jealous. Lucky girl!

I agree with you - they can come earlier now if UPS is quoting an earlier date. The main reason for the 21st crew getting bumped was as you said due to it being before when Apple was releasing the phones. Now that they are out, the phones are free to come as quickly as possible. I have had many Apple products come earlier than promised from exactly that! Please follow up when you get your phone, if it is already scanned into UPS's network (as it it is actively moving and not pre-scanned) I bet it'll come on the quoted date from UPS.

Call UPS and ask them to open a lost package claim. UPS says this can be done if the package is 24 hours past it's delivery date with no movement.
Unfortunately, the system didn't let me claim a lost package since the package is still registered as "in transit" within their delivery network. But thanks for the tip.

Picked up my "Sprint" iPhone 12 Pro today from Apple, popped in my T-Mobile sim and worked just fine like I've done in the past few years. They were out of the "T-Mobile" and "Unlocked" phones and had AT&T and Sprint available for pick up. I use quotes on the carrier phones because they are all unlocked if you pay in full or use Apple's payment plan :p

That doesn’t make sense I filled a lost package claim after 24 hours of no scans after it was picked up. It let me and that’s specifically what UPS told me to do. UPS claims site says you should do it if it has missed the delivery window by a day.

After Verizon cancelling my preorder on preorder day and Best Buy not having the phone I preordered the day after, I walked into the Apple store and got a 512GB Gold Pro. Not the color I wanted but it’s growing in me!

True. It'll be a bit of cash infusion surprise randomly. :)

In all seriousness, my order is seriously effed up. I had to make an address change to it and it's been in a weird state since. I'm not convinced it will ever ship. That's why I decided to go this route.
Update. I picked up my iPhone 12 PB from the Apple Store today! A couple hours later, I received an email saying my first order was canceled and I won’t be charged.

I had a feeling my order was messed up. Good thing I decided to order another one for pick up!

Loving this new phone! Coming from a XS Max and really appreciate the smaller form factor.

At least they offered to expedite the new order. FWIW, the pickup order had no issues with Sprint activation...

Think there's a hangup here?

If ordered from Apple, "lost" iPhones have to be reported to Apple, and they will follow up with UPS.
