Random question for those that purchased the 20W charging brick. Do you plan on using it to charge your phone nightly or just in situations when you need a quick charge?

wife bought the 20W and plans on keeping this phone for as long as possible and is worried that using the 20W nightly will kill the battery in the long run.

She doesn’t really need a rapid charge overnight, so I suggested just usually her old charging block (from the iPhone 8).

Thoughts?

I’d say if she doesn’t need fast charge just use the old charger. I wish I wouldn’t have bought the fast chargers.

By the way, it’s it just me or is UPS My Choice literally impossible to navigate on mobile safari?

I probably shouldn’t try as I’m in the mid November crew. Lol

Shoot UPS stopped displaying 10/27 as the delivery date for my initial 10/30-11/4 order. It is now saying saying they will be updating delivery plans and that it is in transit. Something about them updating once transferred to ups in destination city.

I am assuming this means UPS won’t quote an accurate date until they get the cargo from the plane from whatever company was used to charter the flight

Yea
I figured T Mobile is the carrier that outshines 5G over others!

Can't wait to pick up mine today at the Apple store!

Unless your phone comes with the new R15 SIM card you’ll need to get one from T-Mobile. I just used the SIM card from my XS and my 12 Pro won’t connect to the 5G bands. When I go to field test mode it only connects to LTE band 2.

I wanna go back not because it’s too small but I notice the way the battery drains more even with normal use and it just bothers me 😂
No, the 12 battery is actually better than the Xs.
The 12 has a more efficient processor (A14 Bionic), newer modem hardware (Qualcomm), and battery conserving data modes (LTE, 5G auto, 5G only)....

If you leave it in "5G auto" you will see same or battery life because the phone does not have to use the more power hungry modem hardware.

Unless you happen to live next to a mm Wave short range tower, I would not bother switching to 5G only because of the lack of towers in your area.

Maybe in a few years we will see the proliferation of 5G towers..

No no I came from a 11 pro Max hah and do I think 12 pro has bad battery life no I don’t it’s honestly fine to get through a day but it does dip quicker then I’m used to and my brain is bothered by that haha

I’ve been in the same boat, but a half hour ago UPS updated again and now shows a 10/27 delivery. Keep checking! (I was initially given a 10/30-11/4 delivery window.)

I’m so far behind trying to catch up reading everyone’s post. Work has been crazy since I went back. On that note, I’m off on Pro Max/Mini day!
I am not off on Pro Max/Mini day, but I am in my office by 7:30, so I will be all good and ready to go.

@StaceyMJ86 Me too, and I didn’t even know at the time that I scheduled the day off, that it would be a happy coincidence! I’m hoping that I can order early enough to arrange for in-store pickup.

That’s where mine is at too.

Ive been using fast chargers (60w and above) on my 11 Pro Max for a year, and my battery is at 100%. YMMV

Same here... fast charged and wireless charged (which people claim will be harsh on batteries due to heat generation) and my 11 Pro only dropped to 95% after a year of HEAVY use. I think just charging however you want is the best way to go. Battery wear is a part of the game, and charging on a 5W brick to save 1-2% of your battery life just isn't worth it, to me at least.

I came from an 11 Pro Max and can definitely feel the battery drain more on the 12 Pro. I tried leaving the 5G auto setting on for a day and then even forced the 5G as the primary and battery has been equally crappy. Even turning off data and running purely off of my house WiFi is showing drastic changes from my 11 Pro Max.

I was mostly excited to step down from the Max, because it was saving me money and giving me a smaller screen (Max was getting big and I didn’t want to wait a few more weeks to order), but now I’m second-guessing myself as this battery is noticeably worse.

You have to give it some days to settle in as well.

Now I can’t decide if I wanna save more money and get the 12 or spend more with the Pro Max. While I notice the battery life difference I still end the day with 30+ % granted I have yet to have a night out with the phone and that’s where I feel it might get dicey but how often am I going out these days 😒

I'm not seeing much difference in battery from iPhone 11 to the 12. I know that the Pro Max has a larger battery, but I also think that the 12 battery will get better after everything settles in. We just got them on Friday and transferred a bunch of stuff to the new phone. I am going to give it a week to settle in and then compare battery life.

I hope that’s true! Never noticed a change in battery for the worst in ages — it’s almost always been better year over year. Tomorrow will be a “normal” day with work, so that will be the true test. Then, can alter the variables (5G), depending.

Go with the Pro Max model. It’s worth the $$.
