Ok, so I have my husband’s app set up on his iPad with the iPhone 12. At first he didn’t care, now he wants to be sure he gets it next Friday. This is my first time ordering with Apple (he gets to be my test run for the Max later, lol), so I guess I better get this right!
It’s pretty easy, don’t stress! Save whatever you want as a favorite and make sure you have your method of payment and addresses already set up in your Apple account for the fastest order.

Done and done! iPhone and MagSafe are both saved as favorites. I’ll order the phone by itself. He’s doing payments through Verizon, so hopefully that won’t be a bottleneck. Ready!

Do you receive any sort of employer discount through Verizon? Some (not all) employer discounts will make your account invisible to 3rd party (Apple, indirect Verizon stores etc) systems. Users on one of those profiles can literally only order at a direct Verizon store or Verizon online.

Nope. The only thing about the account is it’s linked with my Fios for the $10 savings. That’s it.

I saw a Max Tech video on the iphone 12 line, and they said that the new modems will improve performance of 4G up to a potential 2gps. I’d love to see a 4G performance boost especially since 5G is going to be in limited availability.

Speaking of MagSafe, anybody know when that dual charger is being released? The iPhone and watch dual charger they showed?

I’ve been ordering straight from Verizon for all my pre-orders. Tomorrow, I will order directly from Apple; hoping it goes smooth.

Upstate NY . Was FL.
If you activate with a VZW SIM, it will lock you for 60 days. If you don't activate with a Verizon SIM, then it will still be unlocked, and you can activate with another carrier's SIM. And AT&T only locks if you do an AT&T installment plan. The other two do no locking.
You sure the Verizon won’t lock to the first sim that’s inserted ? That would be an issue.

Having second thoughts about the Pacific Blue. I’ve always been a silver/white guy and am beyond worried the shipping dates are going to be horrible for PB. Already locked in the color during the pre-config process. To change colors or wait it out 🤔🤔🤔

Ugh I’m in the exact same boat you are. Worried about the color and the date slipping, I always swapped between black and white, figured I would try the color but regretting it a bit.

Anyone know if it’s possible to change the payment method used for the upgrade program preapproval? Or do I need to wait until it’s active?

Quick question, I want to be ready for preorder tomorrow and I noticed that the Apple store will let me get everything ready as long as I select the Apple installment plan. I do have Apple Card, but I don’t want to do the payment plan. Once I receive the phone can I just turn around and pay it off? Also, can I add Applecare later on and pay it in full as well? I do not want to do the applecare monthly payments.

thanks!

Yes, you’d probably be better off ordering the phone at full retail and just use your Apple Card to get the points. And yes, you have 60 days to add AC+ on. You have both options, full price or monthly.

I'm finding that annoying as well. I don't want any financing or trade-in crap, I just want to get to the point where all I have to do is push the button to put the order in.

Same. We’re both on Verizon, but after last year with issues on the device dollars and a lot of inconsistency from one rep to the next, I’m going with Apple this year. I’ll put my Device Dollars towards AirPods or the AW6 instead.

Just set it up as a favorite. Then you can find it under ‘for you’. It’s just as fast.

You could always pay the amount off early, even if you use monthly installments.

Not a bad idea to use your device dollars for accessories or the AW6. Im planning on buying mine outright with my AC and then sell my iPhone 11 Pro to offset some of that cost.

I will either trade-in or sell my 11 Pro Max when the time comes. I’m going for the 12 Pro Max so I need to see what values will look like. I kind of don’t want to deal with selling, but FB Marketplace isn’t bad. Either way, it’s getting paid in full.

So Cal
so many posts here so i think someone already pointed this out but the pre setup for the preorder in the apple store app, which is new this year might make check out simple and fast. I found it strange that they say in the email confirmation that im setup for the preorder i received that they say if i make any changes on checkout that my device might be delayed. i figure they are using the preorder pre setup to estimate preorders.

i get so nervous at this point. will the apple store app open up on time for me? will i run into any probs? i love and hate this time of year. and i know tomorrow i am for sure going to feel like cr@p. because i normally go to bed around 1ish. i know i will have a hard time getting to sleep, alarm set for 4:30 just in case and then after i order forget about sleeping, even though i will try. i am too old for this!

I'm going with gadgetbegone.com and they quoted $590 for my 256 GB 11 Pro. I think Apple quoted me $450
