I placed an order on the apple store app and picked the monthly payment plan while selecting "NO" on trade in to allow me to take advantage of the AT&T special offer; however, there's nothing in my confirmation email about trading in through AT&T.

I called AT&T support and they told me to cancel my order with apple and place it with AT&T to get the $800 promo and that the trade in had to be selected at the same time of the order. This is in direct conflict to what I see on apple's site so I'm skeptical.

Can anyone help clarify how the promo trade in process is supposed to work for orders placed through apple?

If you had ordered through AT&T then you did have to select trade-in, but not through Apple. Apple's website specifies that as long as you select "no" to trade-in, and meet the other criteria, you will qualify. The terms say they will send you more info about the trade-in after order is confirmed. I'm still waiting on that follow-up info but I'm sure it'll come. We will have 30 days once the phone is activated to trade it in either via mail or in store.

Disregard the AT&T employee's statement - they only know their own process. This is the first year Apple has been able to process carrier promos so it makes sense that they don't know about it.

This is the one thing that literally makes me mental about iPhone pre-orders, the deep, deep need to check the status every 2-3 hours. The next 7 days - time from when you place the order to the time when the phone is actually in your hands - doesn't quite feel like 7 days, more like 3 months for some goofy reason. ?
Consumerism and instant gratification. People need their new devices NOW NOW NOW.

I see the 12 and 12 pro available, but the Apple Store app tells me that the 12 Pro Max and Mini are not available at all yet. Is that the same other people are seeing?

IIRC the Pro Max and Mini won‘t be available for pre order until November 6th

Got mine ordered in Ireland, confirmation email came in at 1:11pm for the iPhone 12 Blue 64GB and the Plum MagSafe case. Haven't had an iPhone in years so looking forward to it. Also ordered a Watch Series 6 earlier in the week to prepare.

Delivery dates came up for the 20th Oct for the Case and 23rd Oct for the phone during checkout, now it doesn't give a date in the order confirmation and just says "Delivered within 3-7 business days after shipping by Standard Shipping" for both. Hoping I'm getting them by launch :)

Never mind, dates have now updated to 27-28 Oct for iPhone :( and 20th Oct for the case. Suppose I will have a nice case to look at ;)

Amazingly an hour after the preorders opened there was still a green 128gb 12 available on T-Mo so I went for it. Very easy process, the App Store app is exceedingly streamlined, and I was able to easily finance it on my Apple Card and get 3% back on top of the trade in deal.

Started the Apple Card process on the app last night. Just had to click complete this morning it went super fast was done in 5 minutes. 12 Pro Pacific blue 128gb delivery Oct 23rd.

Smoothest experience I’ve ever had. Pre-Approval works well. I even managed to get the Mag Safe charger for it.
So, with pre-approval, did you get notifications just before the event? I setup pre-order for the Pro Max and I want to know what is going to happen? Details, please.

And if I DO order a new iPhone it won’t be until the new year when I get my Tax Refund. But in All seriousness I really don’t need a new phone right now as I just bought an iPone SE 2020 in August

Are you talking about Tyson's Corner mall Apple Store in Tysons, VA? I recently found out that was the first Apple store in the world (Steve Jobs even was there opening day in 2001). I live like 3 hours from there since its on the outskirts of D.C. Always like that Apple store but didn't know it was the first one. Seems weird Apple doesn't consider that to be their flagship store instead they use the NYC one.
Haha. Yep that’s the one! I love that mall. Yea it is the first store. I also always find it weird they don’t have something special for it.

I'm on the iPhone upgrade program and got pre-approved on Wednesday. Got into the Apple store app at 8:01 and got my confirmationat 8:03...being delivered on 10/23. (Product)RED 128 gb.

Despite what I said earlier, I ended up buying an iPhone 12 Pro, not the iPhone 12.

The Verizon pricing was a real surprise to me, and it mitigated substantially the previously perceived price advantage of the iPhone 12.

Honestly, I think that Apple has made a mistake with that.

Just went to the apple store app - ordered a 12 Pro - Pacific Blue - 256g - 9:00 am pickup window on Oct 23 at local apple store. Surprised it was still available and with plenty of appointment time options.

I tried to place an order for the 12Pro in pacific blue. When I got to the payment section, it said that ApplePay has failed; however I got a confirmation email. So I placed an order for a second one, using a different card this time, ApplePay failed again. However, I got 2 confirmation emails stating 1 will be delivered the 23rd and 1 can be picked up. I imagine I will just have to update my payment method at some point??? In any event, I'm sure life will go on.
