Other Apple.com iPhone 12/Pro/Max/Mini Pre-Order/Order Status/Delivery Thread (2020) [Merged]

I was not expecting to depart Louisville until early tomorrow AM, but I got a departure scan for 4:47PM. I can find no fight for that. I hope we are not coming by truck. And they pulled me out of there so fast I didn't even get to say goodby to my friends.:(

Apologies if someone has mentioned this but:

I got an email that my trade in kit was on the way. Because I’m having the phone sent to a different address than normal, I checked my order to see if there was tracking info for the trade in kit to see where it was sent.

It says it was delivered! No tracking info. I have someone check and there’s no trade in kit. She checks with the neighbors. Nothing.

I started a chat with Apple Support and he tells me the trade in kits don’t ship until after the phone is delivered.
I sent him a screen shot of the app telling me it was delivered.
He says did you check with the neighbors. I tell him yes.
Then he tells me there is no tracking info and the kit doesn’t ship until after it’s delivered.
So which is it?

Well, yes. Many us either called or emailed UPS to change it. I called today and had it rerouted to the CC.

Thanks, just did that for both iPhones. Every year previously I've been able to redirect through website/app. Wondering if this is their new attempt to avoid a super long line at the Customer Center on launch day!

I suspect a system glitch, someone else had this happen too.

Haha, I've just the experience to share with you. This is just me. The day after I ordered my Mini I immediately received a notification from UPS saying a packing from AI is coming. By Monday afternoon, indeed it was here, the case for me to send back my trade-in. But the funny thing is, I JUST received an email this morning (11/12) telling me that remember to send in my trade-in and my trade in kit is on the way. So I'm not sure whats going on.

BTW, when I ordered my iphone 12 Pro I also received my trade-in kit before the phone was here. I remember it clearly because I tried to trick my wife by telling her the phone was here early and it had the company name AI written on it, which she called my bluff.

It’s odd. I had other packages held for pickup through the website at the CC just last week (unrelated to Apple). I’ve never had a long line at the CC on iphone day, either. Maybe COVID concerns?

My local CC store is open from 9-11. You can pick it up as soon as they open (assuming your phone arrives overnight). In the past mine leave SLC around 4:00 am and arrives at the CC store about an hour later, then they unload and sort the truck. When they scan the flagged items (to be held) they will then be put aside to be held at the front instead of putting them on the truck for delivery.

Did you by chance get a tracking number for the trade in kit coming to you? That would be reassuring.

I had issues last year getting billed for my old phone and new phone because of Apple shipping issues and I want to avoid that again this year.
 
Anyone know where our trade in boxes come from? On my FedEx app it shows me getting a delivery on Friday and another on Sunday. Both are from AI in Carlisle, Pa. We have not ordered anything and I’m only expecting one trade in box from somewhere.
 
anyone know whats up with no contact delivery? do we not need to sign? I usually pick it up at the hub so I dont miss the delivery but was thinking of not doing it this year? Also does anyone know how to change on upsmychoice to the hub? my ups hub isnt showing up this year .
