Got my Pacific Blue Pro Max set up how I want it. Coming from a 6s Plus, I am absolutely destroyed by how fast this phone is. And Face ID? It's amazing! How have I lived without this for so long?? I love it!

I wanted to comment specifically on the 5G support. I knew going in that 5G wasn't offering much in the way of faster speeds in most places. I'm on T-mobile where they don't really have any mmWave anywhere yet so I wasn't expecting much. However, I am seeing significantly better speeds around where I live than I see on LTE. Here's a comparison of the kind of speeds I get:

The slower test was done with the phone set to LTE mode, though the Speed Test app still marked it with a 5G badge.

This is not blazing fast by any means, but as you can see, my service was barely usable before whereas now it's perfectly serviceable. I plan to do some more tests around town (particularly known dead zones) to see how I fare. And this is on a five year old SIM!

So far, this is the happiest I've ever been with a new phone. Everyone here who is still awaiting theirs, I think you're going to be pleased.

My new phone and old phone. This year I'm more excited by the front of the phone than the back of the phone (blue!). So that's what I'm posting pictures of! ?

I kind of want to remove the screen protector, but I'm afraid the screen will just get worse if I do. So it will probably just stay on and I'll use the phone for betas and a backup, just in case.

So actually T-Mobile is the service to have out of the bunch. They aren’t going for mmwave (high band) but they are going for mid band 5G which no other carrier has the mid band coverage they have or will have. All the others just have widespread low band, you will get wide spread mid band. They doubled there coverage map in a month and adding at a fast rate!!

This is MacWorld’s torture test on the phone batteries. “To measure battery life we calibrate the display to 200 nits and run the battery from full to empty using the Geekbench 4 battery test.” I think we’ll find that the 12PM battery life is impressive based upon the silicon improvements.
I’m kinda skeptical of the bench’s. I don’t think they account for modem/WiFi streaming usage. So I’m guessing that is not adding in the fact of using 5G? Which I heard sucks down 20-30% in a day.

In this one the 11 pro beat out the 12 pro..By an hour and some change. And both 12 pro’s lost to every other flagship on the market. I don’t know, I guess as long as I make it through the day I will be happy. It’s just how can they go smaller the bastards. Lol

I hear ya. Time will tell for sure. I upgraded from an 11PM and battery life was certainly great.

Pretty rough day for me. Had to wait for about an hour in UPS CC this morning because the UPS folks had to trike the iPhones from 3 blocks down the street to the CC. When I got mine and came home to activate it , the activation woudnt go past the enter the pin screen.

Now I had ordered the IUP device while on Verizon, but then this Monday switched to ATT, so I had expected popping in ATT sim would do it for me. But despite spending hours with ATT trying to activate through back end and factory reseting multiple times, the Verizon activation screen wouldnt just go.

Finally decided to go back to Verizon and then spent another couple of hours with their "winback" team trying to reactivate my old account. In the end at about 3:30 PM, my new 12 pro max activated on Verizon.

To make matters worse, one of the Apple tech advisors ranted that the IUP devices are locked to the carrier. And when her supervisor came, by then Verizon ported out the number out of ATT and the call got disconnected.

What a day!

Did anyone else have a weird brightness bug when they first turned on their iPhone 12 pro max? I was wondering why my 12 pro max was less bright than my 11 pro max at the same brightness setting. No matter how much I raised the brightness level it stayed at the same brightness. A hard reset(vol up, down, power button) fixed it, but that was such a odd bug especially after just powering on the phone after unboxing.
Mine came with it set pretty dark! For the first couple of days. I had to keep adjusting the brightness back up. Haven't had that issue since. On the 12 Pro.

Does that really work if you leave ur signature there? Don’t they want u to be present?
Yes. I was afraid I wouldn’t hear them or something so I left a note and signed it. He did knock but was in his truck driving away when I opened the door. He waved and drove off after leaving the box on my porch behind a column.

Okay. I found a very annoying bug. every-time I open the music app, the song changes. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Curious! Do you have to have a song currently playing? Is the song stopped? I can check to see if I can repro it.

Anyone in the Seattle, or Spokane area still not received their iPhone 12 pro max due to weather delays?
Sadly yes, I've been lurking watching the thread and my phone (Spokane, WA) got delayed due to weather. I then contacted UPS and they say they had issues with an excess of packages. It now shows a Monday 11/16 delivery date.

Its very frustrating, I thought about doing UPS store pickup but I'm afraid that will delay it even further.

Thanks for the reply. Let me know if yours shows up. I’ll do the same
