My 12 Pro Max seems to be stuck in China.
Ordered on 11/6, shipped on 11/13
UPS status shows rescheduling delivery. Anyone else seeing this?

What time did you order? Also that note is normal it showed clearing customs for me in Alaska and Kentucky. The next steps should be maybe one more move and then to AL and then KY (the ups hub) and then out to your state and then to your local ups.

it seems like the battery on my 12pm is defective. I say that because it drains so fast. I charge everyday and it does not seem last for 24 hours. Is there an app to check the battery health other than the one in settings? Does anybody have issues with battery draining fast too? I got mine on launch day!

I don't have this battery draining issue. I unplugged my 12PM on Saturday morning and by night time it was still 85% (Note that I am not heavy user, and I don't live on my phone, listening to music, web browsing, some games). Sunday morning, woke up to 84%, then at night it was down to 50%, and I woke up this morning to charge it as it was 49%.

So far so good.

Did you set it up as new or restored from back up?

It needs improvement to say the least. I made a joke that if you keep your screen dimmed to the lowest setting while not in use and you try your BEST not to use the phone AT ALL the battery life is great.

It's not defective but more so that it's not so great. What with the phone trying to find "5G" networks (which I'm sure are few and far between) the battery life just stinks on the 12 Pro/Max.

Supposedly there will be an update... we will see.

I charged to 100% this morning. I was shocked to see that when I came back from a 10k run (running Map My Run app) I had only lost 1%. Keeping your screen dimmed while not in use will make a huge difference, I'm telling you.

You can check the battery health in settings under "battery"... good luck to you.

I thought you got the 12 Pro, not the max? Did you get both?

Wow. Saturday night my phone was at 97% and woke up Sunday with 90%. ?

I did set up as new to update to 14.2 then restored from icloud afterwards. Well I actually am a heavy user I should say. I play games, do some web browsing, social media. Maybe I will have to minimize using my phones for a few days to see if that improved my battery life.

But that thing is I am on phone most of the day when I still used my XS Max and it lasted longer than 12PM i thought.

Also, depending on when you set it up and restoring from iCloud, there could be some time where it's indexing. So give it a couple of days.

I got my 12PM on the 13th, gave it a couple of days to settle in. Sunday morning I unplugged my phone at 0600, and at noon on Monday it’s down to 35%. During this time I took a small trip and took about 50 photos, it was connected to CarPlay for 7 hours, watched a 2 hour movie, and the general messing around with it. Not much actual phone time and I don’t mess with FB, Twitter, etc. I’d consider this to be a typical day’s use for me.

So far, The battery life is better than my 11PM, which would typically be down to 25-30% at the end of the day.

The 12 pro max battery life doesn’t suck at all.... if anything I get more out of this then my 11 pro max. And I use it heavy

I'm glad to hear it! I didn't get the PM. I was referring to the 12 Pro. I'm coming from a X and I just expected more.

Dimming the phone has helped me a ton though.

I always have my phone running in dark mode. It helps quite a bit to not have all the white OLEDs running. For OLED, it doesn’t take any power for blacks. (As I understand it).

Yeah on my 12 ProMax I am getting much better battery life than my trusty 11 ProMax so I am pleased I thought I read the 12 Pro did not have as good of a life but have not been with a phone of that size since the X and I recall it did not do as well but did make thru the day

Share your tips! Lol
  • I’m not a heavy phone user and I don’t do any social media (except this site). That’s the biggest battery saver. 😉
  • Location services. I don’t allow ANY apps to use location services all the time. Set to only while using the app.
  • Display. My brightness is set mid-level. True Tone set to ON. Dark mode enabled. Auto-Lock set at 5 min.
  • Cellular. I am not using 5G. I’m home most of the time using Gigabit WiFi (just need to update my mesh router now), and when away from home LTE is plenty fast for my needs.

so pretty much we have the exact settings except true tone is off for me. this is because I often edit photos using Lightroom to have the actual representation (color and right edit) of the photo when viewed by other people when I share on social media accounts if that makes sense.
also, dark mode is enabled for me in a certain time(at night only). I will try this though to see if that helps! Thanks much

Sure thing, and I get what you mean. Regarding True Tone, I messed with it in the past and I ended up just keeping it on since I only do picture editing on my MBP (soon to be M1 version ?). Time to pass the Early-2015 model on to others.

Enjoy that phone! It’s amazing how far the technology has come in the past 10 years.
