I’ve been with Xfinity for at least 20 years, and have always been happy with their service and there are rarely any issues. Maybe it’s just my location. Every couple of years I call in and change my plan and it brings the price down. Currently I pay $160 a month which includes their full 4K package including Showtime and Netflix (yeah, they swapped HBO for Netflix premium at no cost), 3 extra wireless 4K boxes, gigabit internet, and a landline. In 2 years it will increase to $190 then I’ll call back and work on another plan. I keep the landline since my 92 year old mother lives with us and she prefers the good old fashioned phones. You could probably get this cheaper, but it’s convenient for all in our house (I’m the only techie one), and that convenience in itself is worth money.

If you think you’re paying too much, give them a call! I’ve always had success in improving the plan at a lower cost. A little bit of honey goes a long way.

I’m going to do that. I’m pay almost $190 and that’s too expensive for me and we don’t even have half of what you have. I will be making that call today. Thank you.

Aww I wish that I could but I’m an avid runner and I can barely fit the phone into my running pants pocket as it is. There’s no way the PM would fit.
Would be nice to have a better battery and the best of the best camera!

enjoy it for me ?
♥️
nothing better than the mini for that. its perfect!

Maybe I need to invest in a mesh router. I feel like I pay too much money for the service that we’re getting with Xfinity.
My problem is I just have internet with Comcast/Xfinity I never wanted their high priced TV service. I have gradually gone to streaming with apple itunes, Netflix, amazon prime and HBO Now. Comcast charges me $80 a month for a Xfinity package of internet only that promises around 100 mbs I am getting around 120 plus however. In order to get a higher Xifinty package for better price I have to also chose a TV service that would likely cost me another $100 a month and I do not want to pay for their TV service and choices it gives and have even higher bill. They have always penalized my monthly cost because I do not use their high priced TV packages and there is nothing else in neighborhood. The local 1 GB fiber optic that is in much of town has only hit a few of lower income neighborhoods like ours, and they want 40 percent penetration so unlikely to happen soon. AT&T does not offer their “slower” service either for same reason we are a lower income neighborhood so Comcrap is my choice.

It works and has been reliable and the 100 mbs works fine for all my streaming but not going to go to a better WiFi router (using several year old Apple Extreme still) with my service would not be better unless I pay for TV and get a higher Xfinity to boot. The regular AT&T 5G is in my neighborhood with 1-2 bars of service and its faster than LTE on many days but not always, and in other areas of town I get much higher with all 4 bars than my WiFI so for me both are useful and I got a two line package (starter unlimited for my wife who has one of the latest 5’s I got her — she does not need all the stuff, and I got the high end and will be paying simiiar to what we were before with only LTE)

As I mentioned I never wanted their TV so I pay just under $80 per month for 100 mbs internet. They always had a $20 or more per month “penalty” because I did not want to pay another nearly $80 on top for TV and so even if I did your change I need to do it with their TV which I do not want, I just do various Apple and other streaming services, and in total pay about $25-30 per month rather than another $80 plus to Xfinity. Never tried to work out deal with internet because there is no other choice in my neighborhood

I pay just under $80 for their internet only as I mentioned. I doubt they would give me specials for that because I do not have alternative in neighborhood to back me if I ask for a deal and with out a full TV/internet package I have always assumed they would not work out a deal for me (as a result did not try) My friends who pull that have AT&T internet and local 1 GB fiber in their neighborhood to play against each and of course Xfinity. Neither in my lower income neighborhood. They did fiber in a few with grants but ours was not one, I could get the fiber with internet and TV for around $100 so a better deal if it were in my neighborhood but talking to them until there is 40 percent signup (i am on list) they are not going to pay to put it in our neighborhood anytime soon.

One of three reasons for me to upgrade my 11 ProMax to my 12 ProMax was the better Qualcomm modem and it is better in weak neighborhood, faster processor and more processing ram — and I am pleased with speed increases, but the big final reason was the bigger sensor and the night mode addition to all three lenses. I have played with it some and like the results but here is good article from a professional photographer that has lots of good info: https://9to5mac.com/2020/11/17/iphone-12-pro-night-mode-portraits/

There is no chance in hell that you’ll return the 12 Pro and stick with the Mini. The 12 Pro is not that big.

Hell must have froze over cause I’m returning the Pro and keeping the mini.

How do you like that Nomad? I looked close at that case. I have to carry a brick case for work but it’s great for protection and grip. When I get home, I pop it into a thinner case. Right now I’m waiting for the California Poppy leather.
So far I like it. The buttons aren't great, their TPU like the sides so they don't feel very different and they aren't the easiest to press. You also feel more tpu than leather. But I wanted something that was still sturdy. The leather feels nice and looks very good. The apple leather cases look nice likely a little less protection with a better feel.

They had a mini on display at Target and I played around with it, it’s a nice little phone! I just need that extra screen estate to watch videos, and the longer battery life. If they can make a foldable with a mini form factor that unfolds into a 10” display, that would be the dream phone.

I switched from Spigen to Caudabe 3 years ago, but the Sheath one. Thinnest I have felt so far. I also dropped it a ton of times and not one problem!

This Spigen Liquid Crystal is not thin enough for me. I need something as thin as the Totallee clear case. I have a Pink Citrus silicon case that I have yet to open. I prefer clear so I can show off the color of my phone. I’m going to try the silicon case out tonight and make a decision wether I want to keep it. I will be ordering a Caudabe case tonight and see how it is.

I used to love bulky cases but after having the XS Max, I only love slim, tight fitting cases. I’m currently using the Spigen Liquid Crystal case, and it’s not thin enough for me. I love the Totallee case on my XS Max and just going to bite the bullet and pay $39 for it.

Does the Totallee have nice clicks buttons? I have a Peel Clear (soft) which is very comfortable to hold but buttons are stiff.

it seems like the battery on my 12pm is defective. I say that because it drains so fast. I charge everyday and it does not seem last for 24 hours. Is there an app to check the battery health other than the one in settings? Does anybody have issues with battery draining fast too? I got mine on launch day!
First day was a quicker drain, but I have pictures going back to 2014 and a few Podcasts that I keep the episodes downloaded for. I’ve been good since.

The Pro Max is back in stock today for pickup today/tomorrow in our area if you need to do a return and get another!

  • I’m not a heavy phone user and I don’t do any social media (except this site). That’s the biggest battery saver. ?
  • Location services. I don’t allow ANY apps to use location services all the time. Set to only while using the app.
  • Display. My brightness is set mid-level. True Tone set to ON. Dark mode enabled. Auto-Lock set at 5 min.
  • Cellular. I am not using 5G. I’m home most of the time using Gigabit WiFi (just need to update my mesh router now), and when away from home LTE is plenty fast for my needs. View attachment 1669878

Nice. I just saw that Xfinity is offering gigabit speed in my area. Debating getting it. I wish I could trust them not to charge the nickel and dime fees for everything outside the service.

Yes it do. I’m not sure for the 12 Pro Max. I’m going to order one next week and compare it to the Caudabe Veil. The Spigen Liquid Crystal isn’t thin enough for me so I’m sending that one back tomorrow.
