It just strange on how long it takes for them to ship a iPhone since you order one.
No, that aint the case. Only "long" it takes for them to ship is when it comes from China during preorder - launch time. All other times, it mostly ships from within US IMO. And it doesn't take "long" even during the preorder times. If you place order during the initial launch time, then the orders start shipping a day or 2 days after, that's when the status shows "Preparing to Ship" on apple website / app. In reality through UPS reference number tracking, one can see the movements the devices make from ZZ or any other Chinese city to destination. And that's the time when MR forums are on fire.

the week before 12pm launch week, we went to apple store in Northbrook hoping to check out the 12pro and we were so pissed we could not get in unless we have an appointment.

we made an appointment at a different store (old orchard mall).. at that time the store was still open. Few days after, (before 12pm launch day) I went back to that store to find they boarded up and only doing the “express pick up”. I actually took a pic of the store and was going to share it here but I totally forgot until I have read this. View attachment 1671723

I will say we will be on lockdown again before thanksgiving. Back to phase 3 Friday.

If we’re open Monday, I’m good. I’ll pick up the Air then. I’m in a 4-day event until Sunday and it runs long each day. Monday is when I’m free again.

My iPhone 12 Pro Max was shipped from ZhengZhou and moved to Shanghai on the same day, but has been stuck there for 3 days without any movement. Is this normal...?

I know I order my mom a new iPhone 12 Pro 128GB in Gold on Nov. 9 2020, and its says it will arrive Dec. 1 to 8. with me checking the order status it says they have everything they need to complete the order, and its still in the processing stage. (This was not a pre-ord)

Since I'm in Northern Virginia awhile I order myself a 11 Pro Max $256 GB on August 11, 2020, and it was delivered the next day, and it came from Carlisle, PA.

Looks like Apple could have a warehouse in Carlisle, PA, and when they have stuff in stock then it dose not take them that long to ship it, but then if they don't have any thing instock then dose take a while. I also pre- order a HomePod Mini on November 6, and I got it Tuesday of this week

to me I think

Carlisle, PA US warehouse do distribution for apple is out of the iPhones 12s (all models) and that is why its seems like its taking forever. When ever I order stuff stuff from apple since I'm in Northern Virginia looks like all of my stuff comes from Carlisle, pa

I have a pro showing 12/2-9 and a max showing 12/4-11. But I leave town on the 4th. Is there a chance these estimates will improve between now and then, or do you think I’m out of luck?

Yes that is correct when they have ample amount of stock available, If there is no stock on shelf, they will come directly from China.

For what it's worth, I:

1. Ordered Pro Max on Sunday, 11/15, my credit card was charged early morning on the Tuesday, 11/17,

2. Shipped from ZengZhou at 1:46am Wednesday morning, arrive at Shanghai on Wednesday at noon, and then

3. Sat in Shanghai waiting for Customs Clearance the rest of Wednesday and Thursday (my estimated delivery date disappeared during these two days) and

4. As of this this morning states its in transit in Shanghai as of 8:35am Friday morning (11/20) for estimated delivery date of Monday, 11/23 before 9pm. Apple originally gave me a delivery date of Tuesday 11/24th in their shipping email.

Hope this helps.

I hope it's better than last year's clear case: it was very stiff, hard to remove, and it scuffed and smudged terribly. I returned it quickly.
Unfortunately though I adapted to it (eventually) this years case is very much the same as described. I'm still teetering on the idea of returning it since it scruffed the edge of my PB iPhone band... not the band itself but the part of the band you see when looking at the front or back of the phone. I'll try to post a picture.

Pretty bummed out. Now I'm terrified of cases... though I can't be trusted without one. I constantly use my Levi's jackets "inner pocket cut outs" as if they are actual pockets and I've had the phone fall a time or two when I bent over a couple of times. Luckily it wasn't a far fall.

Either way I'm annoyed that the case did that to my phone because it's difficult to get the case on/off and I'm pretty sure the camera bump lip did the scratching. My husband bought me an off brand: Diaclara silicone case and I finally decided to try it out and it feels a million times better than the MagSafe case... though it works with MagSafe it doesn't magnetize as nicely as the Apple brand. Anyway... I'm going to keep a sharp eye out to make sure the silicone case doesn't cause further damage to my band. This case slips on and off so you don't feel like the phone is taking the abuse. The drop test is what I'm uncertain of at this point.

I'm really quite peeved about the slight damage the Apple case caused.

EDIT: Added photos... please excuse the dust/lint on the nakey phone. Please note that a few some of what's seen here is the light reflecting on the phone in the middle. It's the right and left side that became scuffed. DUDE this phone is a lint magnet... anyone else feel that way?

I also added the orange knock off case. It feels soooooo nice compared to the Clear MS case. Also, excuse my hair... it's not a good hair day. LOL.

Is that just silicone?

How did that happen?

You had me nervous and I just took my phone out of my harder rubber case (Rokform Crystal case) and the phone looks brand new.

The edge should not have gotten damaged that easily.

I'm still trying to figure it out... my suspicion is the MagSafe Apple case because the second the phone was out of the box it got its screen protector and went into the case...

So either the iCarez installer or the Apple case caused this. This phone has been babied since I got it on the 29th. I'm seriously upset about it. I only put the phone in the silicone case as of yesterday. I noticed the damage to the phone a few days ago. I cleaned the MS case and inspected the phone while I had it off.

EDIT: THAT or the phone came like that and I didn't notice. It's really hard to say.

I have seen tracking numbers here, they got approximately 10 days earlier than the first expected date on Apple.
This was true for me also, supposed Dec 1-7, but i would have got it today if not weekends and shipping delays in USA, otherwise Monday is still 1 week earlier than initial date.

Oh...I thought you were saying the new case did that.

My bet is on the installer man-handling it. No way it would come from the factory like that IMHO.

It's one or the other. My X came with a good scratch on the band but it was such a nightmare getting it that phone that I just moved on. Someone else on here said their phone too had an imperfection. I'm going to look at that installer later. It only happened at the top and not the bottom. Sucks a lot. I still feel like it was the Clear Apple MagSafe case because it's difficult put on and off. Installing that case feels like man handling and the camera bump lip is very sharp on it.

The silicone case is super soft and goes on like butter. My bet is on the Apple case over the screen installer. So far so good on the new Orange case. I will still have to keep a careful eye out on it though.

dang, that's unfortunate. I'm always concerned when removing a case that I'm going to scuff my phone. And yes, they are lint magnets. :)

When I tried that clear case on my Pro Max last year, I thought, "oh no, I'll never get this thing off". It was a struggle to keep from damaging the band.

Say, did you get the case to match your hair color? Nice match! :D

So my MagSafe charger came in, and I friggin love it! Charged the phone overnight and it was not hot at all. Really digging the hard snap to the magnets. I'm just amazed its so big in comparison to the Pro Max. Can't imagine 12 users and the charger practically eating all the real estate on their phone.

Still, definitely love! Will be looking for the gremlins everyone keeps talking about. Just soooo digging this phone!

Yes, my initial order said 12/3-10 and I got my phone yesterday! So hopefully you’ll have a similar experience :)
