Non-US orders got completely and utterly screwed!

I've read the forums boards, and several UK users for example could NOT get the app to work for minutes after release time. Meaning we couldn't complete our pre-arranged finance orders in time to get our devices on actual release day!

To be clear, Apple made it clear we HAD TO USE the iOS app to order the device:

I was in the app 5 minutes BEFORE release time, "come back soon"-type screen. Kept closing and reopening it for the next 15minutes, only to finally end up with delivery date of the 9 NOVEMBER — two weeks after should have got it!

Complete and utter shambles Apple. Of course I emailed them, and they took zero responsibility for the screw-up, so I'm now left with no gift for a 28 Oct birthday. Thanks very effing much Apple!

That’s pretty funny. So go pick up one on launch day. This isn’t rocket science.

Not at all. I'm just saying that Apple won't let UPS deliver phones early. Even if the phones make it stateside by Tuesday, Apple will have UPS hold them until Friday. That's what they've always done.

The phones will be embargoed by UPS. Typically held in a separate area at a US distribution center or destination depot. I believe that the Apple UPS contract specifies penalties if phones are delivered early.

Enjoy your phone people there a percentage of people here waiting for the 12 pro max pre approval to start and preorders.

There really should be another thread for Max orders. Heck, this thread should have been split once people actually started ordering.

Just received the following email.. anyone ever receive this? I tried chatting with Apple with no luck.

We’re having trouble processing your order.
Order Number:
Ordered On October 16, 2020
To help resolve this issue, contact your wireless carrier. In the meantime, we’ll attempt to process your order over the next 4 days and, if we’re still unsuccessful, your order will be canceled.

Does anyone know if the iPhone deliveries will require signature ? I live in an apartment building and these ups folks barely ring up and wait for me to pick up.

Ordered as soon as the Apple Store app would allow me to (I think at 7:04 CDT).

12 Pro 128 GB Pacific Blue

As soon as I double clicked the side button to process Apple Pay, I saw the fatal mistake.. the shipping address was set to a prior address.

I lucked out and caught my shipping address error just in time for the same model :) Then I went to amazon to order a case and screen protector. Since I didn't order my phone until this morning, it won't come until after November 9th.

I posted this already in the iUP thread, but this seems to be where all the action is. Hoping someone has some words of advice for us. Ordered 2 12 Pro 128 Pacific Blue when ordering window opened, delivery dates Nov 3-6 and Nov 6-13. Trying to order 2 more, same specs in graphite and silver.

My issue:

Trying to use iUP for the 3rd time this year. 4 phones in our household, 2 originally ordered under my Apple ID, 2 under my husband’s. Preapproved for all 4 earlier this week.

Yesterday, when ordering went live I was able to order the 2 under my ID without difficulty, but we are still unable to order the 2 on my husband’s ID. We select the preapproved phone, get to the “place order” screen, payment window pups up, prompted to save payment info, hit save. Arrow spins once and payment page remains. Apple support has been no help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We have also tried this on a different phone with the same error, so it seems tied to the Apple ID. There also doesn’t seem to be anywhere to cancel the preapproval to start over. Just stuck in a loop on the payment screen...

Not sure if it was traffic related or something else, but I couldn't access the store through the app or desktop until about 5 mins after launch time. Kept getting the "almost there" message. (United States, Central Standard Time)

Same for me and when I finally got in my order kept timing out or giving errors. This was with Safari -- when I switched to Chrome everything went smoothly. Not the first time I've had to use Chrome on an Apple site when Safari wouldn't work.

I ordered the 12 Pro in Blue, 512gb with a clear case, blue wallet and MagSafe charger. Wallet is scheduled for mid November, charger is out for delivery and case is scheduled for Monday. Phone is "Preparing to Ship."
