Non-US orders got completely and utterly screwed!
I've read the forums boards, and several UK users for example could NOT get the app to work for minutes after release time. Meaning we couldn't complete our pre-arranged finance orders in time to get our devices on actual release day!
To be clear, Apple made it clear we
HAD TO USE the iOS app to order the device:

I was in the app 5 minutes BEFORE release time, "come back soon"-type screen. Kept closing and reopening it for the next 15minutes, only to finally end up with delivery date of the 9 NOVEMBER — two weeks after should have got it!
Complete and utter shambles Apple. Of course I emailed them, and they took zero responsibility for the screw-up, so I'm now left with no gift for a 28 Oct birthday. Thanks very effing much Apple!
