Non-US orders got completely and utterly screwed!

I've read the forums boards, and several UK users for example could NOT get the app to work for minutes after release time. Meaning we couldn't complete our pre-arranged finance orders in time to get our devices on actual release day!

To be clear, Apple made it clear we HAD TO USE the iOS app to order the device:

I was in the app 5 minutes BEFORE release time, "come back soon"-type screen. Kept closing and reopening it for the next 15minutes, only to finally end up with delivery date of the 9 NOVEMBER — two weeks after should have got it!

Complete and utter shambles Apple. Of course I emailed them, and they took zero responsibility for the screw-up, so I'm now left with no gift for a 28 Oct birthday. Thanks very effing much Apple!

Hey, just reading on here, someone had the exact same issue as me. In the UK, the app just was not ready at all! I had the phone ready and everything, couldn't check out until at least 1:30 and it's now not being delivered until November 9th. It's mad!

Just got a ups scan:
10/17/2020 11:27 P.M.ZhengZhou, ChinaDeparted from Facility

used the free ups my choice two week calendar. Was also able to track using "track by reference number" with the Apple order number minus the last two digits.

Do you guys think the pacific blue camera color will look ugly with a lot of cases? I know graphite can pretty much blend in with anything.

Thoughts?
I was torn on going caseless, but decided to pick up a plum one just in case I decided to pop a case on it. I thought that one as well as the white looked particularly nice with the pacific blue, though a matching pacific blue hue would have been nice...

Good question. And with Covid19, UPS and FedEx have not even been ringing my doorbell.

Interesting times ahead...
Be careful if it’s says signature required they will still expect to see a warm body and someone who knows the last name of the package being delivered. I had a laptop delivery (signature required) but since it was COVID time when the UPS come ringing the bell my wife didn’t bother to go right away thinking they will leave the package. Nope, they left a note and say they will come back the next day. When i question the guy the next day about the policy he says: yes, no signature, but we expect you to answer and tell us your last name.

If you get the phone early, when you turn it on you will see:

Rainbow apple logo
“You are early, come back at 5am PST on 10/23.”
No one is getting their iPhones early! It really is a wishful thinking LOL
Apple doesn’t play games like that. They have strictly told UPS to not to deliver them earlier than Friday. It’s been like that for the last 12-13 years.

I also show the “Departed from Facility” and “Arrived from Facility” scans. Both in ZZ. Now the fun of out of order scans.

edit: Current ETAis 10/21 between 8:45am and 11:45am. Wishful thinking but maybe with all the UPS delays this year due to COVID, they’ll deliver some early.
