Hard charge on my debit card for the tax finally. I had begun to be a teensy bit antsy but was reassured by tracking info. I would be happier if Tim would call me and let me know for sure that my flight leaves tomorrow so that I don't wake up now and then tonight just to check tracking info. I really need a good night's sleep, Tim. Haven't I done enough for you by purchasing so much this year? Cut me some slack.
I see that the tax was charged to my CC for the iUP.

Sorry if this has been asked. Can you show up early to pick up your phone at the Apple store? I scheduled a 6:30-7 pick-up time, to be safe, but there’s a good chance I’ll be a lot earlier than that.

Probably ok depending on how busy it is. You know how friendly they are. I'm sure they'd just grab it if there is no line.

Might be a dumb question.. But how do they handle shipping all these directly from China, in terms of activation and the different models/networks? Wouldn't some of them that ship with a SIM need that put in at the factory? And does it get activated for specific service just through the serial number? Just seems like so many phones to prep for the end customer directly at the warehouse/factory in China.

That's the magic of Apple I guess.
Really it's assembled in the factory that way. It comes off the line specific to it's carrier already. Then it's just matched up to you at order, directly from China. Tim Cook is the supply chain/logistics guru that made all this possible long before he took the reins at Apple. He's been there since Apple's renaissance began in the late 90's.
