Has there been any movement on 512 gig max versions yet? My order has said processing since 12:05am Sept 14th.

While you wait... the embargo has lifted on the reviews. CNET and MKBHD reviews are up on YouTube.

I love his thread!!

We will see movement in about 12 hours

Ugh I can't stand that idiot from The Verge!

Edit: as an example, talking about "how the Max shows the same amount on the screen from Instagram, just bigger." Apparently it wasn't worth mentioning that the apps can be updated to accomodate the different display dimensions but had not been yet. This would be good information for someone watching the video and trying to choose between models to know.

Hmm... I went and looked at the iPhone 8/8+ thread from last year. I was able to find tracking information on the Sunday evening after preorder but my phone was already in Harrisburg, PA. So it does look like Apple.com orders can originate from within the US. Most likely for phones using recycled parts/perfected process, exactly like this year's XS but not XS Max which is why we see them originating from China.

Regarding historical departure dates; keep in mind it is approaching 7pm in ZhengZhoe so in another 5 hours it will be Sept 19th over there. Maybe we still see movement sometime today (the 18th for those in US). (Grasping at straws I know) Does anybody have an update on flight predictions?

On a positive note, my Apple case tracking number now shows up in UPS and delivery has changed to Today!

Even when our phone do start moving, the may not show it on the site. UPS's site gets hammered by the iPhone people and have taken steps to protect their tracking system. So what you see is not likely the truth.

Hi there folks, just want to ask about my little dilemma here (iPhone XS Max, 512GB, Space Gray, SIM-free). Last night once I got ahold of the tracking info through the usual method of MyChoice, I decided to change the delivery to go to a UPS Store in hopes I could pick it up earlier in the day (UPS comes around 6/7pm where I live). Anyways, there wasn’t a confirmation and it already submitted the request on the page, changing the estimated delivery to 9/24 instead of 9/21 for the UPS Store. That’s the only place I saw the delayed date, as the tracking still said 9/21. Out of an abundance of caution, I called UPS and I seemed to get different messages on whether or not it’ll be delivered on 9/21 or if it will be delayed because it’s going to a store. Long story short, later on I decided to put in a request yet again to deliver to a UPS CC/hub (because I couldn’t cancel the initial request to go to the store), and that said I can pick it up there on 9/21. On my UPS My Choice deliveries schedule page, however, it shows the delivery date and delivery time as “NOT AVAILABLE”, but on the tracking it reflects a pending change to go to the hub and a scheduled delivery of 9/21 as normal. I just want to make sure that my two requests didn’t conflict and cause a delay. Thanks to anyone who can provide some help!!

I did this once and it did delay my delivery by a day, but it was during peak holiday season and I called the hub and they said they would do their best. There shouldn’t be a delay in the shipment getting to your hub, but check the status on Thursday and maybe go visit or call your hub to confirm.

Yeah he annoys me too. Like the screenshot issue, Apple fixed it in iOS 12! It’s kind of misleading.

I'm dubious of this statement without some kind of supporting information. Can you elaborate?

I’m finally joining the in transit line. UPS scan overnight and of course Apple still says preparing for shipment.

Curiously mine is starting at Shenzhen - most of the tracks I’ve seen have started from Zhengzhou. Any experienced posters here have an idea of what path and when this batch will go to the US?

XS Max appears to be from ZhengZhou, while XS appears to be from Shenzhen.

If I've never done the Verizon device payment program, I can just do it when ordering through the apple store app right? Just enter my number and pin?

Yes that’s what I did

To say nothing of part of the reason I am going for the max is not more screen real estate in Instagram but easier to read screen text in Map apps in my car. I think sometimes they look for stuff to neg a bit so as not to look like they are in Apple's pocket. Wait for the review that mentions Apple still hasn't brought back the headphone jack and speculates how much that will hurt sales...

Nah these are following a pattern we've seen before where they pretty much get staged for shipment to the US. They don't need to be here before Tuesday/Wednesday otherwise they'd have to store them somewhere here in the US. Easier to keep them there on site as long as possible before starting the journey to our grabby hands.

It doesn't make sense to hide it's true location because we 'hammer' their tracking system no less now than if we actually could see them moving to and fro.

Just going by what an executive at UPS told me, my neighbor. Made sense to me.
I used to do this tracking but after many many phones . . . it will be here Friday.

Has it happened before where it delivers one day early?
Rarely and surely by accident. They are supposed to stage them for a Friday delivery.

Yeah, none of us are worried about a Friday delivery. This is how we pass a lazy afternoon, evening and now early morning. We just love sussing out this stuff.
