Things are getting stranger as now it’s back in Alaska but it already came from Alaska on 9/19. I guess it’s a glitch and hope it doesn’t impact making its way to my house tomorrow.

Exact same :(
Both Apple and UPS say 9/21 though, so...maybe just a UPS glitch?

There are only 2 UPS flights who left Korea, UPS99 and UPS97. Both are about to land in Anchorage, Alaska soon. I hope mine is on one of them.

My tracking info shows:

What I don't understand is why Apple puts themselves in this situation to begin with. When they have a specific release date for a product, and the first batch of orders are all "guaranteed" to arrive that day...that is a very difficult thing to manage logistically. And the high volume of recent years, it is starting to become harder for them to keep their word on release dates.

If they wouldn't insist on holding back shipments to prevent deliveries prior to the release date, they would have no problem making sure all release date orders get fulfilled. Instead, they continue this silly tradition, and the end result is that inevitably, some batch of release shipments are going to be delayed. Not just by one day, but several days because of the weekend.

Good news for those of us who were stuck in Icheon, KR and departed this morning. Two plans are going to be landing in the next ~1 hour in ANC and I have a feeling since we are running out of time, those planes will get pushed to Louisville as fast as possible.

Anyone have the support profile link handy? I want to grab my serial number but for some reason I dont remember the url correctly anymore :(
Just go to your invoice in your order status, it will be there. The new support profile site does not list them until you login with your Apple ID now. Here is the link anyways https://support.apple.com/my-support

The shipment process should have defiantly started before pre orders.

I don't doubt this is correct, and the timestamps certainly align with what UPS shows for my tracking. I'm just curious how it's determined as a cargo plane and not one full of passengers?

Singapore Airlines doesn't operate 747s for passengers anymore, only cargo.

Hopefully so. It’s strange there is no import scan. Some people have mentioned time zone issues but I don’t see how that plays in given we aren’t crossing a date line from Alaska to Louisville. Plus other people aren’t showing issues and their phones are leaving Louisville to their destinations.

Just thinking, I get to do this all again very soon. I was late to the game about getting an apple watch so my estimated delivery is 15-22 Oct. Hoping it slips a bit earlier, I am actually more excited about the watch then the phone. And since I am running the beta on my iPhone X....I may have to wait a bit to activate my XS as I can't restore my icloud backup on it yet.

My last status scheduled for delivery tomorrow:

Shenzhen, China 09/18/2018 7:00 P.M. Export Scan

Anyone else isn’t the same boat?

Oh it started days ago. The problem is that Apple tries to time it so that its not possible for a delivery to occur on Thursday. They put a hold on the items until a certain time, and then they can start the process of clearing customs. Once they clear customs, the package basically doesn't stop moving in UPS's possession until its at your door, which is how it can go from China to your door in 24 hours. The problem is that customs can interrupt the process and is unpredictable. That's the gamble Apple takes.
